Story

Following in the footsteps of its first location at mile marker 88 on U.S. Highway 1 in the Florida Keys, the highly acclaimed M.E.A.T. Eatery & Taproom is a carnivore’s dream. The brainchild of Chef George Patti and Sommelier Thomas Smith, this cutting-edge, quick-serve restaurant smokes its own meats on-site, makes its own sausage in-house and features high-quality burgers in addition to hot dogs, lobster rolls and much more.

Chef George Patti also creates many of the condiments and ingredients himself, from bacon and caraway-beer mustard to the homemade Nutella ice cream used in a selection of “adult milkshakes”. The culinary adventure continues with an enticing array of options such as Braised Pork Belly, Pan Seared Foie Gras, and Manchego Cheeseburgers.



Don’t be fooled by the name. M.E.A.T. also serves fresh and creative salads and a variety of healthy wraps and light fare, including our famous homemade hummus!

And for those with more than food on their mind, the M.E.A.T. team is passionate about creating quality craft beer. Their innovative approach includes incorporating traditional ingredients such as malted barley with non-traditional ingredients for added flavor and a unique twist. But that’s not all. In addition to 12 superior quality craft beers on tap, you will find a selection of organic wines and unique “Microbrewed Sodas,” prepared without high fructose corn syrup.
