Loved everything about Mabel’s. To get started, we ordered the Spanish tortilla and the olive oil drizzled on top made it taste even better. Also ordered a couple of drinks, both delicious. As a main dish, we had the fish au poivre and the tuna, both really flavorful. You gotta order the Basque cheesecake! Service was very kind.
Interesting food. Super servers. Curated menu with only what’s fresh. Loved the pea, Jamon and goat cheese salad. Don’t miss the whole fried sea bass! Oysters were so drag and love that they came with house-made hot sauce. Outdoor seating was pleasant. Reserve ahead.
Sat at the bar and had a fantastic dinner. The cocktails were incredible - started with the Spanish g+t and finished with the strawberry drink, which was definitely on the sweeter side. Ordered the oysters, cheese and meat plate with bread, pea & jamon salad, and gambas. The gambas needed to be peeled which wasn’t my favorite, but super flavorful. The staff were all incredibly helpful and kind. Will be coming back :
Wonderful AC going. Beautiful little nook in my beloved North Park. Michelin mentioned, Mabel's lives up to it! Started off with a lovely Gin cocktail, as that's the theme here, called Pirouette. Made with Pear essence. It was dreamy. Cool. Refreshing. Sat at the bar to enjoy the happy hour. Get there at 4pm. So you can beat the crowd. By the time we left an hour or 2 later. Place was completely full. And it's a tiny spot. You'll watch the chefs meticulously plating and cooking dishes that will transport you to another country! Where that is. I'm not sure. Turkey? Spain?. Either way. It was a melody of delicious bites we shared. I even shared the Basque cheesecake with a salted caramel that made me WANT SO MUCH MORE! Light and like a cloud of perfection in my mouth. Had another Gin and tonic, they call them G and T. With grape, sage, lemon on ice. It was so refreshing! I learned about a new spice called Urfa pepper. THIS. Will now be a staple in my spice cabinet. Every dish we had was a delight. Very small portions. But so much fun to share with a partner and explore! The crowd was very pretty people. Not sure if they were my nieghbors and or out of towners! Maybe both? Staff was super sweet and motivated. The bar is where it's at. Clean, Beautiful, classy. You don't need a table to really immerse yourself in this gem.
We pretty much ordered everything on the menu to try and our server was attentive and entertaining. Food was delicious and most hit out of the park. We had reservations but were seated by a doorway to another space maybe a waiting area that was super cold and brought the whole vibe down.Food: 5/5
Most of the dishes were well balanced and delicious. Don’t skimp out on the bread and butter. Oh, and all the cocktails are really good.Food: 5/5
Came in on a Tuesday night for dinner and everything we ate was delicious. Definitely recommend a reservation since we had to wait even for a spot at the bar. Once seated Anna the bartender was quick to help us and gave us some great recommendations. The snapper was probably my favorite thing we ate aside from the cheesecake. Delicious gin and tonics as well. Definitely recommend trying it out. Super cute spot for date night or just a quick cocktail.
This place blew me away! At first I wasn’t sure if they take walk-ins. They do, however I highly recommend making reservations because business is booming!! Alright, they are masters of gin, incredible drinks, like nothing I’ve ever had, I did not know gin could taste like that. Wow! Gimlet is a must! The chef’s are super talented! To eat, we had the tuna appetizer, smoked potatoes and our entree was the swordfish. Each dish was perfectly crafted, exciting, fresh and an explosion of flavor. One of the best meals I’ve had in my life, no joke. Massive shout out to Jake, you can tell he’s passionate about what he does, the excitement in his voice and knowledge of the menu gave us the confidence to try whatever he recommended and we’re glad we did. Thanks Jake and the Mabel’s Gone Fishing staff for an amazing experience.
I love Mabels! I've been in for dinner and the fish was fresh and super flavorful! We came in for oyster hour as well and they were fresh and delicious. I love coming here everytime I'm in townFood: 5/5
Such a sultry vibe in this restaurant!! Lots of people were on dates! The Spanish and Indian gin and tonics were sooooo good and big too! We got the oysters as well as the clam toast and we wanted more of the clam toast!! Then we got the cheese cake as well for dessert which was delicious. Be prepared to spend $$$ because it is expensive, our bill was well over $100, but it’s worth it!
