I got married in April 2017 at the Mack Dick Pavilion. This is a beautiful and affordable venue in a state park, Palo Duro Canyon. The landscape is breathtaking and the building is new and very nice. Many of the out of town guests at my wedding were completely dazzled by the pavilion and the canyon. They said it was the most beautiful wedding they've ever been to. I had to agree; it was completely perfect. I gave it four stars because you have to deal with bureaucracy through the whole process of renting this venue. There's a weird rule about booking it 11 months in advance. It's hard to find information about the property because not much is listed online. People in charge of the property are difficult to reach via the phone or email. You can tell it's government run because everything is more difficult than it should be. Since there was much uncertainty about the venue, it was important for me to find a wedding coordinator with experience at this venue. Parie Designs in Amarillo has done multiple weddings there, and they did a wonderful job for me. They helped me navigate the weird rules and gave me piece of mind about the event. Overall, it's definitely worth getting married here. Just be prepared to navigate some weird rules and deal with bureaucracy.

A nice place but only open when it is reserved. 5 stars if it was open during park hours

The bathrooms are locked when no one is using the facility. If you need a bathroom, this is not the place.  You will have to go to the campground and use the one there.
