The food was amazing. The burger exactly what I wanted. The mac and cheese was different kinds of cheeses and spirals and we loved it. The chicken fingers were actual chicken and they were so yummy. The fries were delicious and the beers where yummy too. Our waitress was friendly and the service was fast

My daughter and I stopped here for dinner after a long day of Mt. Climbing.  We were seated promptly. We were glad to see the wait staff casually dressed as we had yet to change from a day of muddy climbing. The timing of things were a bit off, the bread basket came just minutes before the meal and if you want water, request it.  The meals were excellent, they were both large portions and were cooked to order. The tavern does have a full bar immediately as you enter the door and dining is in the side rooms off to the other side of the building. It can be a bit noisy as sound seems to bounce off the walls a bit, but overall it was the meal that we came for and were not disappointed. Our compliments to the Chef.

So much has changed for the worse:( No
More popcorn machine and the food is over battered and fried to the point of no flavor. Had the Calamari, chicken tenders and haddock sandwich. This was my go place every weekend in the winter until now. Truly disappointed:(

Delmonico blue cheese. I’m sad to say This place has gone down hill. Everything we ordered was over battered and bland. Maybe a new chef? Probably won’t be coming back again which is sad to say since this has been my favorite restaurant for the last five years.

Finally found a good meal. After a week long stay in the area and not so great meals I found the Mad River Tavern. The food and drinks were really good. The margertas hit the spot along with the good selections of beers. I tried the steak Gorgonzola loaded baked potato and side salad. The steak was cooked right and flavorful. Potato was good I got it loaded but all that seems to do was add sour cream on the side. Would have been better with a huge dollop of sour cream and butter right on it. The meals were a good portion and prices were reasonable. It was off season and not busy, we were able to sit right and the bar. Deffiantly worth checking out.
