I was visiting my brother that lives in Milwaukee . I took my family out to breakfast here on a Saturday morning. We were seated fast. The food selection was enormous. The staff was nice. Then the food came out! Holy cow ! My daughters pancakes were so good looking my carnivore omelet was stuffed full of smoked meat. The other plate had strawberry crepes the same as the others Awesome! You better make this a #1 stop if you are not from Milwaukee.

Wow!! Do you want to experience a breakfast that's going to blow your mind??? This restaurant and service far exceeded any expectations that I had of just getting something to eat! There was a wait of 35 minutes for my table and that's exactly how long it took to get seated. It was so worth the wait! There's something to look at in every part of the restaurant and the food came out very quickly! The portions were enormous!! The wait had so many people just hanging around that they have a free coffee bar. They grind the beans right there. So the coffee is as fresh as you're going to get anywhere!! People that weren't drinking coffee or drinking mimosas or Bloody Marys that we're done perfectly! Talk about being blown away!! I was not expecting this. Their service and wait staff are very well trained almost as if being at a fine dining restaurant! Very impressive and worth the wait!!

When I ordered breakfast tacos I wasn't expecting much but the tacos were loaded with goodness and side of potatoes had a winning kick of heat. 
Atmosphere: Glorious rooster vibes (you see the rooster portraits and understand). As cozy as a neighborhood diner but with more interesting decor and comfier booths. 
Staff: Friendly and knowledgeable. Our waitress mentioned everything is made fresh.
Recommended: (1) Chicken and Waffles. You won't even need the maple syrup because the super soft waffle is slightly sweetened to perfection. The gravy is to die for. (2) Breakfast tacos - perfect amount of heat and they're very filling without leaving you feeling sluggish. A perfect start to the day.
Skip: Only compliant was that coffee wasn't great.

Bold flavors, large portions, HUGE selection, good coffee, nearly everything is homemade. 

We're not from this part of Milwaukee but visit for the large, nearby grocery store. Decided to give something new a try. Mad Rooster is well worth the trip.

Their chorizo is well seasoned and is healthy to boot as it's a chicken sausage. 

The non-standard baby reds are a delightful change from the standard fare.

Give em a try, you won't be disappointed.

love this place!! my husband took me on a breakfast date and asked where I wanted to go and I said Mad Rooster (he had never been) the wait is usually long if you don't get there early or make a reservation but I used this new app and when we got there we were seated right away and the food was AWESOME!! I love that they have fresh everything fruit, juice, eggs etc you can taste the difference and my husband and I LOVE to eat breakfast so we both enjoyed and didn't finish our food but it was a great snack later!!
