Not the biggest library and minimal resources. Does provide plenty of computers with Internet access. Patrons can be loud and/or rude at times. I think the staff deals with major issues fairly well, except the loudness/cell phone issue. I have seen them deal with that issue at times, but usually not. Most marginalized people there are well-behaved, staff will not put up with them behaving inappropriately. They do have community rooms for functions and meetings, and classes that people do use on a regular basis. The place actually functions more like a community center than a library. 2 stars for the library itself, but another +2 for the dedicated staff, the community center-type function it provides, and the Internet access they provide for people that might not be able to access it otherwise.

Nice community library with a decent selection of books. Three stars because of the large homeless contingency.

This branch is extremely loud. There are not only an abundance of disrespectful patrons that frequent this branch, but the employees seem to wait until just about every patron is irritated with whatever is irritating before taking action. For example, a male next to me was watching stand up comedy on his computer... which is fine. What's not fine is how loud and often he was laughing. It prompted me to wear my noise-cancelling headphones, which weren't enough. Finally, an employee came over and told him to quiet down. On another occasion, I witnessed a patron watching pornography on a computer. I'm not sure how this is allowed. Only reason I'm providing 3* is because I can typically get in and out with ease and complete what I need to when utilizing their computers and one is usually immediately available. But trust me, take headphones.

It's one of the smaller libraries in Madison, but they have good staff and a pretty good kids section
