I required the services of a notary and reached out to the UPS store located at 182 Howard. To my delight, a warm and welcoming voice answered my call, inviting me to drop by. Upon arrival, Samir greeted me and efficiently tended to my needs with exceptional professionalism and amiability. I am grateful for his exceptional service and for valuing my business, even though it was a minor transaction.
This store has the best customer service of any place I go to. The main guy is always super helpful. When I printed out the wrong return label: no problem. When I didn’t have the box I was supposed to have: no problem. And he is not only friendly but super efficient; I don’t think I have ever spent more 5 minutes in the store.
Like many others, I recycle my Amazon boxes and use them to send packages to family/friends. Since I'm not a UPS person or someone in the transportation or logistics industry, I have no idea there are marks on the boxes indicating certain 'hazards' or dangers. I went to this UPS store this evening to ship something and was told by one of their staff that I "cannot use the box". The person finally was able to articulate that my box has the "perfume" indicator and cannot be used. I assured the person there is no perfume in my box and I was only using the Amazon box. I even opened the box to show the content because I did not feel the person believed me since he was going on and on about perfume in the box... Following that, the person then pointed to these marks "ALL OVER the box" that indicated there was some hazard signs. Great. So I told the staff my goal was to ship out the package and I was happy to buy a box from the store. You would think a BUSINESS like UPS Store would think creatively and positively and try to solve a problem rather than CONTRIBUTE to it, and make things worse. No, they did not offer me a box to purchase. Instead, another person in the store who I assume to be the owner of the store then also talked to me in a negative way, "I'm not sure what you don't understand... ". The whole situation could have been turned into a win-win for both parties if I wasn't made to feel I was causing them trouble or bringing them danger instead of helping them make money by buying a box and shipping out my packages yes, more than 1. I don't see how this is not a store that sucked. When I finally decided I wasn't going to let them have my business given what had transpired so far, I told them their store suck, out of exasperation at what I was being put through. The first staff then retaliated by saying that I suck too. So much for great service.
The man who claims to be the owner is incredibly rude. I don't understand why UPS let's him ruin their reputation like this. Apparently this is a franchise location, so they don't have to follow normal UPS pricing. The owner adds an extra $20 "convenience" fee on all transactions, and will aggressively yell at you if you ask about the extra charge.
I went to get a TreasuryDirect document notarized here and was told that they are not allowed to notarize that document. However, I read online later that the form I have, FS5444, can be notarized by any notary there is another form that has to be notarized at a financial institution, not this one though. I went to another UPS and they notarized, no questions asked. Glad I got it done, but recommend all UPSs get their policies straight so customers don’t have to swirl — it would have been much easier if I didn’t have to wander to a bunch of other places trying to figure it out.
Samir from this branch is super helpful and fast with amazon returns. Very patient when I had quiet few returns pending.
$4.07 to print one page Usually they are great but today they couldn’t print a label for me, asked me to use the computer. I was in a rush and the computer was a different interface than most. It wanted to scan my card first and said it needed to put a $20 hold on my card. I scrolled through the terms and accepted it, logged into my gmail, and printed one page that costed $0.25. At the end the bill was $3.75 after logging off, it said $3.50 to use the computer. The staff there didn’t mention this when they directed me and there wasn’t much traffic. I said to the the staff, “$3.75 to print one page..?” And the staff said, “Did you read the terms? That’s on you miss.” Overall unpleasant experience but I think the point here is that the cost should be as obvious at log out as at log in, and if not perhaps there can be a sign, or the staff can be instructed to share this information. Instead of rubbing it in for me. Moreover, if a service is normally provided, the customer shouldn’t be charged that much for it on a day where the staff’s printer isn’t working. I checked my bank account and it said $20 has been approved. I thought it was a hold..? Anyway, I said thank you and left. Update: *The cost came out to $4.07 to print one page. I’m assuming tax was added.
I was just charged $97 and some change by this store and I’ve never been here!!! Beware of a scam going on everyone because I live in Florida and have never been to San Francisco
Management & Customer Service has remained tops at this UPS Location over many years but really in evidence in this year of Covid. The expertise, knowledge & patience shown me, from its opening through this nationally difficult 2021 has stayed at hand at each visit & was shown to all during my time in store. In fact, I have watched as customers before&after received the same very professional help whether the individuals were struggling with a "print &/or mailing" job or any other of the many services offered . And the store office environment includes light touches such as greeting cards, a quite lovely floral accent plus welcoming manner + a friendly good-bye!
They won’t accept the items that other Ups accept. They’re expect you to pay for repackage from UPS store. I’m very disappointed. Every time we bring medium or large package in they rejected it even though it was packed nicely.Recommend to use other UPs store. The worker was very rude and unprofessional.
