So much space, so many books. This is a quiet place to study, write, read, or watch videos with the free WiFi (with earplugs 😉). It is close to many restaurants and other things to do in downtown Richmond once you’re finished reading! There are many public events here such as documentary screenings, meetings, TEDxRVA, and more!

Lots of books and really quiet with a great atmosphere to calm down and study or read books. Great air conditioning. Staffs are very helpful. Restrooms require borrowing keys so are very safe. Great library.

came in as an out of town guest requested information on temporary pass for computers. was told that I could not bring my back pack into the library. asked for alternatives was told to leave my bag outside; it was acknowledged that my back pack that I depend on for survival might get stolen. I protested and requested a supervisor. the person that I was talking to left the room and called security. when security came I refused to go and was told that I was inappropriately dressed. I explained to security that I was told differently. the security guard showed remorse, but was still asking me to speak to him outside. when I went out side he explained that all I needed to do was put my extra clothes in a brown bag and that he would get me one if I would wait. I complied to his instructions. when I got to the computer area there was another patron with a large back pack. the woman that I spoke to was black, the other patron was black, and I am white. have mercy on the poor especially the homeless in winter, and don't judge people on the color of there skin.

Vast amount of book and the staff is helpful at most times. They are a little stingy about giving out library cards to VCU students if they don't permanently live in the area. I argued for a while and eventually got one. I would bring a price of mail with your Richmond address to ensure you can get a card.
