Main course was fantastic!! The mimosas were delicious and perfect for two. The birdie and waffles was perfectly cooked and delicious. My bf said the burger was awesome. First time visit was exceptional! Food was very tasty and a great proportion. It was fresh, made to order for sure.. Great location with outdoor seating options. Waiter was very polite and attentive. Definitely will return once back in Columbia...Food: 5/5
This place is amazing. The food is delicious. The whole staff...FRIENDLINESS MATTERS, they are all good people. Good Customer service outshines anything put in a review to me. If you want to listen to a live jazz band, get your sip on, and dance a little if you like in a grown and sexy atmosphere then step out to MAIN COURSE, and dress up jazzy & snazzy you won’t regret it! DATE NIGHT-APPROVED
If the food had not been so good I would have rated this place a solid 1. The service, from the get go, was unprofessional and mediocre at best. The host disappeared without, apparently, letting anyone know. A waiter walked by my husband, made eye contact, joked with another waiter, ignored my husband's question and kept on walking. After about 8 minutes of no host I walked into the restaurant to find a couple of the staff sitting down at the bar joking around. The ratio of employees versus occupied tables was 7/4. Our waiter was very nice but only came to our table 2 times and proceeded to disappear as well, one of the host was looking for him without success. Upon being asked if the wait was worth it by the waiter that ignored my husband and sat at the bar to talk, I responded with "the food was amazing but the service was pretty horrible"... he did not take that very well and complained about being short staffed and not being paid enough... 3 main coursesbirdie waffles,burger, fish&chips, 1 soup, 1 sidemac&cheese, 1 serving boneless wings, tap beer for 1, tap water $109.
Main Course is a nice place to catch dinner and a live music show. There's a bunch of other different stuff going on in the building too. The main music room is nice with tables and spread out a bit. We came to catch The Steel Woods and it was a great show. I'd definitely come back here again to see a band I like. Food was good, drinks were good, staff was nice as well.
We went to The Main Course on the 4th of July weekend .Very busy. The atmosphere was very good. We had the brunch located in the back of the restaurant. Service was very slow. There was no one there to greet us at the desk . Hostess arrived and seated us ..finally. It took forever for wait staff to greet our table. Once we finally got service staff was very pleasant. Brunch was tasty. But they had a hard time keeping the supply full. The young lady serving the food was pleasant , but over worked. Management needs to get more staff.Omelet guy not pleasant at 'All' Acting like it was a problem asking for food. Over all meal was good.
Excellent service, classy place... Incredible 75 tap pour your own beer wall!! I had the duck egg rolls, and they were well-prepared and super tasty. Grind Mode Cypher was the entertainment for the evening, and it was a killer show. I would recommend this place for foodies, beer nerds, and enjoyers of live entertainment. There's also a game room, art exhibit, and jazz club on site.
Great Sophisticated Luxury Establishment mix with a little Historical look, I would highly recommend going. You can dress Casual or Jeans. The Venue is for couples or groups. I only came to Dine-in for the food because I've heard the Steaks were the best in Columbia but they were out and unfortunately some of the food options I wanted to try they were out of and they don't have bone-in wings. What I did order it was Delicious. I would highly recommend the birdie and waffle...The Venue on Main is a casual-dining restaurant with table service plus more. In my opinion the Bays are good for couples but Best with Groups, the Interactive games would be so must fun with groups. The Venue also has a small pool table and game room that's a plus. The staff was awesome, very nice and informative and the Venue has two bar areas. Check Out "The Venu on Main".
Will always come back! I visited this morning around brunch with my sister and best friend. We had the bacon appetizer with three dipping sauces and the birdie and waffles for our meal. I ordered a cranberry juice mimosa and my sister had the pineapple juice mimosa, both very good. Our waitress, Brie, was very sweet and attentive. The restaurant is beautiful, too!
This was my 3rd … 1,2,3… plate … I literally ordered the breakfast bowl no meat add potatoes … very simple … we arrived at 1:00 with reservations, which means they were aware that we were coming … party size of 7. I received my final attempt of a correct dish at approx. 2:50…and the first dish had pieces of bacon in it which I had a member of the party taste prior to sending back just for confirmation. The manager or lack there of made several excuses for the lackluster of service we received. He even stated that when I sent my food back members of the kitchen ate off of my plate and decided that the bacon in question was in fact potato skin… I’ve never in all my years of being a vegetarian heard of such a thing. And what is even more concerning is the fact that staff members are eating off of their customers plates. Just wow. We even had to get our own silverware…amazing. One server came by our table and asked if we needed anything … I tried to ask for my last order to be prepared in a to-go tray and she literally told me she couldn’t help me and waved me off. The total disrespect. This was by far one of my worst experiences in the Columbia area. I do hope they work on their customer service and food preparation etiquette. I will also be posting this review on other social media platforms as well.
