I LOVE this museum. Its small but packed with awesome information and amazing historic trains. I didn't get to ride on the train but will definitely go back for that another day. The tracks run alongside the walking trail and have excellent views! The only recommendation I will make is handicap access is difficult to the museum. We had come off the East End Trail and to navigate across the tracks and across the parking lot was hard. When we got to the museum staff was helpful.

Small museum with historical trains. A definite go to place if you are in Maine. I would have liked to spend more time there. 10 bucks ticket price not a bad deal. Train ride was definitely worth it.

This is a smaller museum but my kids absolutely loved it. If you are a fan of trains and memorabilia, or your kids are this is a wonderful place to visit. This is a place to make a memory that will last a lifetime for that train enthusiast in your life. Absolutely wonderful.

I had a wedding this summer, and my best man lives in Alabama with his wife, so when they were visiting I decided to bring them to the railroad museum. They loved it! Admission is very inexpensive at only $10 (with discounts for children and seniors) and it includes a small train ride. The museum is packed with historical information and artifacts, with rail cars you can walk around in. Photos are allowed, and there is a place for kids to play in. There are also souvenirs and snacks available for purchase at the counter. At first, the train ride seemed like it may not be worth it, as they seem to bring you down into the Old Port area just a short distance, and then back - but the ride keeps going as they bring you just opposite of the B&M baked beans factory and you take a short rest before you finally return. You definitely get your money's worth and more. Great trip, worth the price by far, with very informative and kind employees and volunteers.

We take the polar express to see Santa every year. Our kids love the experience. We always look forward to it. They make it magical for the kids.
