Called to have someone come inspect my furnace. A guaranteed time slot was about 6 weeks out, but I was willing to try for an on-call type appointment. A technician was available the next day. Josh L was professional, friendly, and best of all, a clear communicator. He didn't try to sell me anything unnecessary, rather, he just walked me through what to expect in the near future of the life of my furnace, based on what's commonly seen with my model.

I could say quite a bit with regards to Mainstreams tactics that are calculated at best. I will say this: TO dismiss a veteran who served honorably in defense of our democracy and freedoms for 2 decades ON VETERANS DAY (yes you read correct -Nov,11, 2015) is and will always be unpatriotic and heartless. That needs to be said. I reflect back on that day with great disdain. Having said that, I don't believe the value of a veteran is considered in this organization. Fortunately, I drew strength from my faith and established talents/experiences but none of us are built alike. That day HURT - and is a painful memory of each Veteran Days since. The electricians are talented bunch....but are trained/driven by the (MSEH&C) system.

Do you know what is included in you up front pricing options? I do, I asked them for an itemized receipt. Our bill came to $1797.57. The labor, materials, and permits came to $582. BUT the gross margin costs came to $1071. What are those costs, well I paid $144 for advertising. Yes, for the Yellow pages, 30, direct mail, 7, television ad 91, internet 8, and other 8. Then I paid 378 for employee costs: 91 for office salaries, 83 service manager, 132 administration wage, 33 training wage, 3 uniforms, 8 employee relations, 20 incentives, 5 payroll expense, 2 hire expense, 2 tools. Then I paid 68 for facility expense, 50 rent, 2 shop supplies, 2 repair and maintenance, 5 utilities, 3 telephone, 3 computer software, 3 janitorial. Then I paid $50 for vehicle, 38 for fuel and 12 for maintenance. Then I paid $173 for administrative fees: 21 for insurance, 3 accounting, 17 professional fees, 5 legal fees, 5 bad debt, 17 outside consulting fees, 1 dues and subscriptions, 5 office supplies, 3 postage, 5 printing expense, 8 cell phones, 17 bank and C.f. fees, 25 training classes, 17 contributions, 10 finance charge backs, 10 WA B&O tax. Notice all those fees came to $1071, work only 582. Then technician said the electrical panel was a ticking time bomb, needed to be replaced at the time of $12,000. Their upfront pricing is a scam. I had second opinion done from Summit Electric, who does all work for Sacred Heart, who was honest and said outlets were not overloaded, that it was safe and if we sold house would need to be replaced at cost of 3-4 thousand. MAINSTREAM ELECTRIC uses scare tactics and they charge 3- 4 times as much. Now you know the truth. MAINSTREAM, don't bother with response, already heard lame excuses.

We called weeks ahead to schedule service so we could have flexibility to schedule a date. That is where the problem started. Took over 10 calls in 4 days to finally get a hold of their "scheduler". Fast forward 3 weeks. Ironically, they called 2 hrs before the TIME and DAY we agreed on to say they only had us on "standby" with no guarantee for availability that whole week. Took time out of work schedule for that specific time (because you have to be there during the service) They also didn't care to make any effort with their mistake.

What a disappointment. I had Mainstream scheduled for a minor repair in a rental unit today between 12 - 3 pm confirmed last week. Invoice was going to be sent to my realtor as repair was being made to facilitate a time sensitive property sale and I was going to pay bill upon receipt. Tenant was given 24 hour notice of intent to enter for repair so the whole thing was set up a week in advance. Mainstream calls me today at 2:15 pm saying a) No one is available today; b) they don't make afternoon appointments; c) I needed to be there to pay upon completion of work; and d) had no clue about getting invoice to realtor so it could be used for proof of completion to get the sale finalized. Mind you, if all of the above are policies ..... fine ........ but no one told me any of these in advance and even confirmed with my realtor LAST WEEK that it was all set up. Now I'm scrambling to get this done to save a property sale. When I contacted my realtor just now to find out what happened or if I misunderstood she said the guy that called today seemed like he didn't know what he was doing and told her he was new. But what about the guy that set it all up the week before? Very frustrating. No more Mainstream for me. Their poor customer service and lack of clear communication just may have cost me a lot of money.
