M.W.F.D. offers school year programs for children 2.9 years of age through age 6. Additional programs P.E., Bodies in Action, Music and Tae Kwon Do.

Story

Make Way for Ducklings accepts children that are 2.9years of age through the age of 6 and is open Monday through Fridays. With the exception of the opening and closing dates, snow days and professional development days, the school follows the public school calendar from September through June. At Make Way for Ducklings, you have the option to enroll your children into the preschool program for any two, three, four or five days per week. The Kindergarten program is a five day a week program. Hours for the two sites are below:

SPRINGFIELD: 2015-2016 schedule

7:30-5:00 FULL DAY WITH CHILDCARE
8:30-12:00 OR 1:00 HALF DAY
8:30-3:30 or 4:00 FULL DAY
KINDERGARTEN—Five day a week program
7:30-5:00 FULL DAY WITH CHILDCARE
8:30-12:00 OR 1:00 HALF DAY
8:30-2:30 FULL DAY KINDERGARTEN

Included: Physical Education Wednesday and Thursday, Music on Fridays, Cooking, Games and Library

WEST SPRINGFIELD: For fall 2015-2016

Tuition is private pay and vouchers through New England Farm Workers Council.

Sibling discount of $20.00 per month

Special Optional Programs–Nominal Fee charged (Program runs from mid September through the first week in June)

The program is based on a rolling admission. All programs can begin at anytime, however once enrolled you are committed to the school year end.

Make Way For Ducklings offers optional programs during the school day at an additional cost. These special programs include the following:

Tae Kwon Do-Class of skill and discipline. This program is available to all children all ages. Offered Mondays/Springfield 12:30-1:15 and Wednesdays/West Springfield 12:30-1:15 with Master Park.

Dance – This program is taught by one of the teachers from MaryAnn’s Studio of Dance. Basic dance steps in tap, ballet and jazz are explored. This program is available all children enrolled in MWFD. West Springfield 12:30-1:15 Thursdays/Springfield 12:30-1:15 Fridays

Mission

The mission of Make Way for Ducklings Nursery School and Kindergarten is to provide an atmosphere in which children learn in an environment that supports each individual child and their families needs, in a warm an enthusiastic atmosphere.

Impressum

Make Way for Ducklings which was established in 1981, has an outstanding and committed staff under the direction of Ann DeNucci Rogalski BS Wheelock College. The very dedicated staff at MWFD has over 300 collected years of experience with Make Way for Ducklings. All staff are licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care of Massachusetts, The National Association of Young Children, American Heart Association certifying First Aide and CPR as well as screenings through the Cori and DYS system. Make Way For Ducklings is fortunate to have such educated and talented teachers devoted to the care of young children.
