The Manatee County Sheriff's Office Explorer Program is sanctioned by the Boy Scouts of America based on a law enforcement concept.
The Manatee County Sheriff's Office Explorer Program is a youth organization sanctioned by the Boys Scouts of America. This is a coed program ranging from ages 11-19. 11-13 year olds participate in the Jr. Cadet program, which is based on a learning for life curriculum; our 14-19 year olds are Explorers who learn directly from professional law enforcement deputies. The Explorer Program is based on a law enforcement platform where Explorers will learn life skills, community service, respect, self worth and teamwork. Select employees of the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office will advise the Explorers. These adults are called advisors, which is compiled on certified and non- certified employees. Explorers get to work close with law enforcement and learn different aspects of the Sheriff's Office.
