The best massage I ever had! I encourage anyone in this area to call and ask for Carla. Hands down, the best massage I've ever experienced.

Had a wonderful experience! We had two massages and two facials here this week. Massages were soothing and relaxing! The staff arranged for us to have food delivered from the hotel in between our services. The only suggestion I have for anyone not staying at the Marriott would be to spend the extra $20 for valet parking so you don't have to go through the hassel of parking and walking through to the hotel to get up to the spa.

As a treat to a friend visiting from out of town, I booked an hour massage with an add-on body wrap treatment for each of us. I had been to the Lancaster Marriott before but never to the spa. The customer service was very friendly, but I should have known something was 'different' about this spa when I called during business hours and went to voicemail. My call was returned and it was easy to book my services. I was informed about the pool and fitness room access on the same floor and my credit card information was required to hold the reservation. Standard operating procedure. When my friend and I arrived at the Marriott, we parked in the designated garage, walked over the bridge to the hotel and proceeded to the beautiful lobby. There we got parking validation and an elevator key to grant us access to the 5th floor. Here is where it got a little confusing. Arriving to the 5th floor, a sign says "Mandarin Rose Spa", through locked doors to your left is a fitness room, through locked doors to your right is the pool. We entered the ladies locker room, to the right of the spa sign. There were lockers, restroom stalls and a shower. There was no sitting are, no robes, no instructions, no one to greet you. There was a closed door saying "Mandarin Rose Reception Area, In Session." We were highly confused. We had arrived a few minutes early so we went into the pool area to sit down. At our appointment time, we went back over to the spa area and found the door open, a lovely sitting area, where a receptionist asked us to fill out a brief form, offered us beverages and a seat. The reception area, which adjoined the men's locker room on one side and the ladies locker room on the other, was nicely decorated, had quiet music playing and some comfortable cozy chairs. At the far end of the reception area are the two treatment rooms, side by side. There were 6 people in this small reception area, two seemed to have just finished their massages and were leaving, my friend and I, then two other ladies. When the two other customers cleared out, we got started and NOW things made sense! The two other ladies were the massage therapists! This was a two person operation. That's why no one was available to answer the phone when I called to make the appointment. That's why the door was closed to the reception area when they were "In session." The receptionist/greeter/massage therapist explained that our two services would be combined together, basically doing the body wrap or scrub intermittently throughout the massage. We proceeded to our treatment rooms and had our scheduled treatments. We both felt that our massages were good, relaxing, well done, enjoyable. We both thought it was a bit awkward to blend in the body scrubs into the massage experience. I have been to several spas (in various states and countries) and was looking for a "spa experience." The place is nice, the therapists are skilled, the reception was warm and cozy, but for me it wasn't what I was expecting.

This was the worst massage I ever received. Customer service was less then friendly. I paid for an hour massage and was only received a 40 minute massage. I actually said something (which is unlike me) and I was told in an unfriendly manner that the hour doesn't just include the massage, it includes me getting dressed, undressed and the consultation. Really? Why was I told to come 15 minutes prior to my massage to fill out paperwork and then ended up waiting over a half hour to get it. Would not recommend to anyone!
