Home away from home! My first experience at this restaurant for Sunday brunch and I would definitely return! The food was excellent, seasoned well and the rum punch definitely had a “punch” to it. The staff was extremely kind and courteous. They don’t know it, but we have adopted them as our extended family because they truly made us feel welcome. Our group really enjoyed ourselves. Will have to make it back closer to opening hours to try the lobster and conch fritters!
I normally don’t travel to Tampa, but I’m so glad that I did!! Because I came across this little gem! I stopped in with my husband today and we both were greeted by 2 lady’s both lady’s were extremely friendly and they went into detail about what they offer. We each got a soul food platter and I’m so glad that we did because I was able to try a few things off the menu and everything was exquisite. They also talked to us about their Sunday brunches and now I can’t wait to return for some waffles and chicken.
Absolutely DELICIOUS! Look no further as I found this little gem by chance. It's a family owned business that prepares the food with love and natural ingredients. I had the honey fried chicken and it had the perfect crunch and was not oily. The Mac and cheese was amazing!! Come try this place Out! The owners are so warm and friendly.
Soooo good! I went with 5 friends for brunch and every meal was amazing! We were stuffed. This will definitely be our Brunch place. I can’t wait for their Haitian menu during the week! Vegetarian options: They have a whole vegan menu !
We walked in an hour before closing and they were serving their last batch of food. So we got it to go the food was full of flavor and served hot. We were so satisfied, we had to finish it sitting in the car. I got the fried catfish, dirty rice with gravy. Yams, collard greens, and Mac-n-cheese. The dining area is small, so I don’t recommend groups. But I am So happy we came here for comfort food.
The jerk chicken + yellow rice + cornbread is delicious. The green machine smoothie is really good too. My friend had a golden-colored smoothie, which is a little more tart than my green drink, she loved it. Amazing service! Didi told us about the split menu concept and I really like the variety of food that they have to offer. I’d like to try the brunch next time.
I found this restaurant on a whim and I’m truly glad I decided to go in. I ordered the mac & cheese, yellow rice, honey chicken with a side of yams. Everything was delicious! My favorite had to be the yams! It was cooked with love. I enjoyed my time there & will DEFINITELY be back. Mangos I’m grateful for your addition to the community
I’m in love. First I must say the customer service is phenomenal. You would think your walking into your Aunti Kitchen. Just so welcoming and warm. The food is just as great as the staff. My daughter is obsessed with the bake Mac and cheese. Just all around great.
Restaurant located in a plaza strip. Place is small, but the ambiance and vibes are great. Came in for Sunday Brunch that I was unaware of. Pictures are shrimp and grits, some kielbasa, collard greens and a flavored iced tea not sure what flavor it is. Shrimp and Grits were delicious - right amount of spices. Shrimp were a nice size. Kielbasa and collard greens were excellent. Not too salty! Iced tea was unique and refreshing. Come and support this great restaurant!
Mangos Ambiance-B+ This spot is the epitome of work with what you got.  They hit the nail on the head of originality and professional decor.   This is how you start business. And the music sets the mood for an enjoyable dine in experience my only knock was that it was pretty hot in the restaurant. It was explained by the owner that the AC went out over night and that they were in the process of getting it fixed. Cleanliness-A Great attention to cleanliness, even the bathroom is inviting. Appearance of food-A When food looks vibrant with an expectation of flavors to follow, it doesn't get better than that. I especially liked how the ribs and cajun riced looked. Taste-B I had the bourbon ribs, dirty rice, yams and collard greens with their special drink. The ribs were tender, easy to eat but lacked any real seasoning except the sauce on it...they were a lil sweet for my liking. The collards were nice and complimentary to the yams. The collards had a spice that was oh so nice, good flavor but they were missing the pot liquor flavor that you usually get from well cooked greens.....but good none the less. Those yams were the truth, not overly sweet but sweet enough to let you know that they were yams. They also had a beautiful fresh spices feel to them. The star of the show was the cajun dirty rice, man oh man...just get it and be thankful you did. That rice made everything around it better, it was the QB of the meal. I also had a peice of there fried honey chicken, the crispy was light, and the came through, but a lil more seasoning could have made the honey more appreciated in this item. And their paradise drink was a great addition to the entire meal. Just a great overall flavor combo when the food is eaten together. Pricing-B The meal with drink ran me about 18.00. Great lunch spot and even take home dinner option for the price. The overall flavor and and quality make this price point suitable. Overall grade-B+ Im a firm believer in supporting all businesses that contribute to the growth and sustainability of a community. with the flavors, ambiance and overall simplicity in executing a great meal with varrying textures and flavors....Mangos should be considered an option of yours when wanting great quality Caribbean and soul food without the garbage feeling when finished eating. Oh and get the Cajun rice with yams !!!!!!
