Founded in 1954 by Herman Barlow Sr. and his father-in-law Edward Trepal, a local builder.

Story

Full service private branded Ace Hardware store. Fourth generation of family now employed. Screen, window, and thermal windows repaired and made. We thread pipe and cut to length, make keys for home and auto including transponder keys. Knives and tools are sharpened in our store. We sell and service Miele Vaccums and we are an authorized Hilti dealer.

This is a family run business in which everyone is always friendly and eager to offer there assistance to help you find what it is that you need. Started shopping here about a year ago and I have shopped here several times since. Always a pleasant experience.

They have everything even the small parts that nobody else has and if they don't have it they can definitely get it for you

This store holds a lot more inside than  you would think from the outside.  Very efficient use of space lets them stock all but the most niche items that you could need.   Everybody is friendly and when you need help finding something they will actually walk with you to show you right where it is instead of just pointing in a general direction like some of those bigger stores.  Lumber selection is limited, but they still have what you need 80% of the time and considering its a local hardware store and not a lumberyard, that's pretty good. The only negative is that they are not open on Sundays but it is a small store with limited staff that deserve their time off too so that doesn't bother me too much.

I would recommend anybody in the Storrs/Mansfield/Willington area come here first to get what you need (they will probably have or be able to get it) instead of defaulting to one of those big box stores.

It has some good "older" faucet fixtures so if you need to replace something to match an older "twin" you may be successful here.

I've had a relationship with Mansfield Supply for 3+ years now.  They are, hands down, the best local hardware store around.  You don't get service like this with the big box stores.  All of their employees have gone the extra mile at one point for me to help figure out what parts or supplies I needed.  As long as I live in the area, and am working in the area, Mansfield will be the hardware store that I use.
