It s so hard to find romanian food in USA so I was so happy to find this place! Everything is great, the selection/variety, the products and the people!! Everything was so fresh, you could see the bags steaming and everybody was working hard in the back! Besides sweets and savory salty snacks mainly they also have a small variety of cooked food! The people working there were soo nice and chatty! Will be back from Tennessee with any occasion and even just for this place, totally recommend it if you miss home or just if you want to try some homemade romanian delicacies!
This place has the best traditional Romanian food in town. You have to try the sarmale cabbage roll boeuf salad and the cozonac sweet bread with sour cherry and chocolate. Everything is delicious! Ask for the Amandine!Food: 5/5
We always love all the pastries we buy from Maria’s Bakery! We highly recommend all the pastries and food! Everything is fresh, full of flavor and looks amazing! I purchase for friends and family when we are in town and everyone loves them!
Great place! Especially if you are from Romania/Rep.of Moldova! A lot of traditional products! Friendly staff. Lots of Romanian cuisine. Stuffed cabbage, traditional soups, cakes, etc They have from Romanian dish to Deserts Amandina, Savarina, Dobos, Alba ca Zapada, etc, snacks ViVa, Olla Rolls, Natty, Ulker, etc, can food pate, zacusca, etc etc. I always stop by when I have the chance and buy a lot of stuff. Totally recommend them!
Everything tastes better by the lake : I encourage this type of small, family owned business. Sometimes you trade fast and cheap for lovely, this is case. Maybe you will find cheaper places but i do recommend to give it a try; also it is close drive to the lake. People are nice here and it is small and cozy
Too expensive. They don't show prices anywhere, and when you get to the cash register you find out everything is priced like at a fine dining restaurant
Best bakery in Chicago with HOMEMADE everything made from scratch in house cakes/cookies. There is no other place like it. You can really tell the difference between this bakery and many other bakeries I have tried. Simply the best.
Stopped in today because I was in the area. Hands down best pavlova I’ve ever had. Pavlovas are one of my favorite desserts, and I was blown away by how fresh and delicious their passion fruit pavlova is. 5 stars!
I’ve been coming here for 3 plus years. They cater a good variety of traditional Romanian food. They’re desserts are amazing as well. Langos is my go to in the weekends when they make big batches. Would highly recommend this place.
Very delicious cakes! I bought an assorted cakes tray and i liked all of them ! These people know what they do! Fresh, very good quality and very tasty. The homemade bread and walnut Cozonac they were much better than my grandmas used to make back there in Romania...sorry grandmas! They made me a loyal client from know one.
