Plenty of parking by the restaurant, a cute area to walk around for a bit! Some staff wore masks. There is indoor and outdoor seating areas. The restaurant is big enough that everyone is socially distanced since it was pretty empty. We were seated right away. The service just was not there. The waitress was all sorts of confused when taking our order. We had actually ordered the ultimate fajita quesadilla but decided to just let it go since she seemed so overwhelmed. Chips and salsa - first one is on the house and then you have to pay. Guac dip very standard. Blue Lagoon Margarita: tasted good but lacked in the amount of alcohol. Could barely feel any buzz. We ordered the half pitcher thinking it would at least be a cup and a half each, however, it just about fills up to one cup each. For the price and the amount I would have rather ordered two different drinks. Empanadas: it comes with 3 and you can mix and match. I ordered 2 beef and 1 chicken. The beef one tasted good, but the chicken one was really dry and lacked in flavor. Ultimate fajita: good flavor and the meats were tender as well. It comes with 3 fajitas per order. You can choose from either corn or flour. So we were dining in around 7pm, right while we were still eating the staff starts mopping the floor with heavy smelling cleaning supplies. It was so strong it was difficult to enjoy our food because all we could smell was the chemicals. The food wasn’t bad but the service was horrible. Wouldn’t be a place I would come back to.
It was our first time in the restaurant, the atmosphere was very good. The waiters were very attentive, the food was very tasty, like homemade. We will definitely go back.
Was in Buford for a festival and looking for great Mexican close by to meet friends. One suggested Maria's so off we went. There is plenty of parking and a great location across from the Community Center. We were just after the lunch crowd, and it was busy but not packed, and no wait. The service was excellent. Our server made suggestions and kept our chips and salsa full. While we looked over the menu, I noticed the prices are a good $3-4 higher than most mexican restaurants I frequent. It is Gwinnett, so very likely higher everything. Our neighboring table got their food, which looked amazing. The slasa is fresh and chunky, almost Pico style, and the chips are thin and crispy. I ordered the make your own combo with a chicken soft taco and chicken burrito with beans and rice. It was really good. One friend ordered the fajita quesadilla, and one ordered the chimichanga with black beans. We all enjoyed our lunch. Again, we found the service was excellent. Noticed a lot of families and larger groups coming in. Would definitely recommend and go again if in the area. Kid-friendliness: Lots of families came in with small children. Good environment for them. Parking: Plenty of parking in the plaza.
If you're looking for good authentic Mexican food.....this is NOT it. Every had no flavor. The guacamole look and taste like whipped ice cream. Ambiance wS nice but food not good.
This place was recommended by my sister we came for an early dinner Food was good hot and tasty Our server was so amazing and attentive She was also very pleasant
Delicious poblano pepper wrapped in steak and stuffed with shrimp, rice and grilled veggies on the side. Service is excellent too! Full recommendations! Food: 5/5
We’ve been here almost an hour. Was not busy when we got here. 30 minutes before our drink and food order. 3 of us are now almost finished and one person has yet to receive his food … which was exactly the same thing another person in our group ordered and has finished. 2nd time here. Same problems both times. Don’t think we’ll be back.
I'm giving them four stars because the place was nearly empty and the service wasn't the greatest but everything else about this restaurant is nice, big seating area indoor and outdoor, lots of space and big clean restrooms, I ordered tacos and they were very good, prices are reasonable. I will stop by again when I'm in the area.
This is one of our go-to places for good food and good times! My wife had the tempequena and I had the camarones al ajillo. The food and service were fantastic. I ordered the habenero sauce which is typically hotter but was spicy enough. Be sure to stop here - you won't be disappointed. Gracias Maria's!!!
This would be a zero if it was possible. Waited 15-20 minutes to get any service. We were a party of 4 and after waiting for at least a half hour, food came out for 2 of our party. Then the third. Waited another 10 minutes, and our waitress came out and asked how everything was. I pointed at the empty table in front of my spot. She went and spoke with another waitress, who argued with her about taking my food for one of her tables. Our waitress was apparently the manager, but you wouldn't have known it by the way she was treated by the other waitress. It was another 15 minutes before my food came out. Everyone else was done with their meal by the time it arrived. Nothing was comped. Nothing was tipped either. This is the second and last time we will be at this restaurant, as the first time was bad service as well. Not sure how this place stays in business. There are a lot of great Mexican restaurants nearby. Go to one of them instead.
