Well had heard good things about arizona law enforcement but when I needed there help I was literally told do not call us back. Here is my story. I I've in california and my dtr goes to school in Arizona. She calls me while on a hike and tells me that her and her friends are really scared as they have seen multiple bobcats and possibly a mountain lion and don't want to risk hiking back to there car. At this point. They are next to a lake right by the trail and don't think they can make it. So 8 call the sheriff's office to see if they can help. They say they will call my dtr and see what they can do. Soon after my dtr calls me and said the sheriff's office told them they would not help them and to just hike out because all the wildlife in that area was not predatory. So I call the sheriff again and somewhat abruptly am told that they are not going to go help my dtr because there are no harmful animals where she currently is located. I tell the sheriff that they are very scared and are not going to hike out can you please send someone to help. I was flatly told that it was not a serious situation and that they can just hike out everything will be fine. So I called my dtr and told her they will not help you and she said I know because the sheriff just called and told her the same thing. She also said the sheriff told her to tell her dad not to call them anymore. At the time of me writing this she is still out on the trail waiting for some friends to hike out to them and help them back. I have always had orhing but respect for the police but this is just amazing to me. To actually be told that we are not able to help and don't bother us is unbelievable to me. Pretty helpless being 10 hours away and unable to do anything and find no help from the authorities. Hopefully she gets home safely with the help from her frinds.
