If you live in Marin you have to consider Marin Waldorf School. It's the complete package that is to love. Of course the unique Waldorf school concept and philosophy which is more relevant than ever in today's world that puts our kids into the best position to thrive in their live and become complete human beings able to adapt to our changing world. But then also look beyond this. The teachers and staff create a truly heart warming community and the beautiful huge campus with its own organic vegetable and fruit orchard is just amazing.

I wouldn't put my worst enemy in this Waldorf school.  Nope, I put my son in the program, and it was a nightmare.  From the first day, when the lack of any effective supervision or guidance resulted in my son's leg being broken to the 2nd day when the classroom's jog disappeared , leaving my son,  who couldn't run due to that broken leg, in the middle of nowhere outside the school to the last day when callous and mean-spirited school administrators and teachers arranged for my son to be injured.  This school has a history of failing its students.  Kids have burst appendix as a result of the lack of attention and irresponsibility of the staff.  The school's administrators commit acts just plain illegal under State law.  Sadly, 99% of the students in the classes cannot pass simple math exams appropriate for their age.  While making sure that students learn to sew and design colored borders for their hand written reports is certainly important, the indifference to basic skills is hampering and harming students.  I was particularly amazed at the lack of any respect for the spiritual basis of the Waldorf teachings.  Rudolf Steiner was a deeply spiritual person, a psychic and Theosophist, and yet, the folks running this school were cruel and sadistic.  Attempted suicides and depression were rampant.

A.MAZING!!  I can't recommend Marin Waldorf School enough.  Not only is my first grader excited to go to school everyday but he is getting an amazing and unique education.  If he's not rattling off multiplication or division equations he's singing in Mandarin. He also loves his art and music classes.  It's such a well rounded education.  He has great friends in all different grades because the children feel so close to each other.  And the sense of community helps us all feel connected.

Waldorf education is the fastest growing educational model in the country for a reason.  These guys insulate the young kids from social media stress, and they modulate homework to keep the kids sane.  A wonderful experience that creates wonderfully successful young adults.
