Two stars because the staff was nice and it seems to be more their (remote) lab's fault. Otherwise, one star (if not zero) for the quality of the lenses. I bought a pair of prescription sunglasses with flash mirror coating from this store and had tons of troubles with it, in particular the lenses, which made me come back 8-10 times over a period of a little less than a year. Initially, the prescription was wrong, and everything was blurry. It took more than 2 weeks to get new lenses, and it was blurry again. After another round of lenses and 2+ more weeks of waiting, they received the wrong color. And after 2+ more weeks of waiting AGAIN, I could finally see clearly, with the right color. A few months after this, the flash mirror coating started peeling off, and it got worst over time and started to get into my field of vision. Around month 6, I went back to get the lenses changed. This time, it was pretty fast to get the new lenses, and they were fine for another few months, until it started peeling off again. But this time, the lab won't change the lenses because the "warranty replacement was already applied", although it is a defect that clearly falls under their responsibility, and the glasses are less than a year old (so I wonder if this is even legal). Oh, and in the meantime, the glasses fell apart ($200 ish RayBan ClubMaster... but still made in China) and I had to go to a local optical store to get the lenses back into the frame. I never did anything crazy with these sunglasses, I don't even wear them all that much. I think that they're just poor quality, both the frame and the lenses. For a $500+ pair of glasses ($270+ after insurance) that is less than a year old, this is disappointing to say the least. I am all for supporting local businesses, but I would like to put this in contrast with a pair that I got online from Zenni Optical for a fraction of the price (as a matter of fact, 10% of the price), which came right away with the correct prescription, a mirror coating that doesn't peel off and a frame that feels more sturdy than those flimsy Ray Bans. I am sorry to have to say this, but I know where I will buy my next pair of sunglasses. Lesson learned: don't get lured into thinking that local optical stores have better quality products, they just don't.

Just got back from my daughter's eye exam & couldn't be happier. I called this morning to schedule, and they were able to get her in right away. Dr. Kobayashi knows her stuff and is great with my young teen. Plus, the optician Oscar, was very helpful without being overbearing and helped my daughter find the perfect frames. Great selection in multiple pricepoints, so she was able to easily find some that were within what the insurance covered. Highly recommend!

My wife and I are new to Los Angeles and were given the suggestion of Del Rey Optometry at the Marina by our coworkers at Loyola Marymount University. What a delight. The staff was friendly and very eager to support our vision needs. Drs. Nankas and Kobayashi were incredibly knowledgable and took the time to make sure we understood the various vision tests and assessments that were being done. We ended up with four new prescription glasses and feel like we have been patrons there forever.
