I'd strongly advise that people looking for a personal or debt consolidation loan look elsewhere. I was approved for a loan with Mariner Finance and Barbara was very helpful throughout the process. However, they wanted to take out a second lien on my car as collateral, and called my landlord and car insurance company to verify information. My landlord thought that I was moving out due to the call, since no information was provided regarding why they were trying to verify the information. I also drove all the way to the office to find out that they could not process the loan because of an outstanding bill. 

      I was approved for a loan through a different lender, and for a higher amount. I had a much better experience with this new company who did not require any frivolous verifications OR a lien on my car title. I'm very glad that I did not end up taking out a personal loan through Mariner Finance and I recommend exploring all of your other options first.
