I grew up coming to Mario's. It was always good. I enjoyed the location. The food was good. I enjoy it when I have the chance to come to Arlington to be able to come to Marios. But I don't know if I will be coming back, because small steak and cheese is now $15. A large is $20. 4 pieces of pizza, $15 with no toppings. It's like the price is gotten to be too much for the average person for lunch or dinner. I miss Joe and Lefty. It's not the same old Mario's.
Ok I been coming to this place for over 15 years and never had an issue with the food, but I just visited with my fiance, and we both agreed that the food took a negative dive.We Don't visit as frequently since covid, but it's completely different now. We got the house special 2 slices of small square pizza and a drink for almost $20 with an added drink. The place looks better since structure updates, but that doesn't really mean much. No restrooms for paying customers still we will try the stake and cheese next to see if there's a difference in that also.
We were there this past weekend. $78 for 2 large subs, small sub and one kids hot dog- no drink only food. We have visited this spot since 2003. We won’t go back for a long time. We noticed the beef lacked flavor and the cabbage with the dressing amount seemed to have been cut by half, as if it needed more of that delicious dressing they used to slap on it generously. So sad to see a place like this go down hill. Not sure it they have new owners? New management? Then had to wait 10 min. To get 2 packs of hot sauce. The atmosphere: fun and cute area set up outside with real and fake plants throughout their outside sitting area. 9-10 picnic tables and cover in case of rain. Plenty of parking, but no public restrooms for their patrons.
Good concept, open late night but the prices are a rip off. Banking on late night customers often buzzed, or had a few drinks their price for a steak and cheese $17.99. This is next to the pizza menu that starts at $22.99 and goes up quickly. There is no inside seating just outside with a roof but. Like I said if you are too under the influence to care then eat at this place. Definitely there is no love in making the food here. Just bucks!
Well….end of an era. Mario’s was the BEST low cost pizza in the area for decades. I would take the Metro from McLean, VA…then walk 4 blocks to enjoy their two slice pizza combo with drink. The photo on the left- the original Mario’s. On the right- Pizza only a 7-Eleven customer could love. Needless to say this is my last visit. So disappointing.
This place will go down soon, I guess nothing lasts forever! Too bad, it was my favorite place for steak and cheese, I wouldn't even try it anywhere else. They really screwed up a good thing here. It shows how much a new management can screw up a good thing. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Too late now, the reputation has been stained.
First visit here and it was amazing! Me and boyfriend always pass this hidden gem when going to Petco and we decided to stop here for lunch. We got their famous steak and cheese which is to die for. We also got hotdogs, fried chicken, they’re amazing soda glass bottles, and the cheesecake & red velvet cake. They’re reasonable priced in my opinion for the fresh authentic food they provide. Love the vibes here. Will be coming back.
The burger was delicious with grilled onions. It was a very good-sized portion. I haven't been as wowed by the wings. They are just ok and seems like something is missing. The fries were very good and there were a lot of them.Food: 4/5
First time here and I will definitely make this a recurring visit. Guy Fieri of Triple D needs to come visit this place. That show can not be legit with him giving this place a food review. The steak and cheese was amazing!!! When they say deep fried chicken, they mean deep fried chicken. The chicken was crisp to a perfection. Their hotdogs were great as well and I am not a hotdog person. If you appreciate old school pop like I do, then you will like their selection of drinks. This is the spot to be late night, date night, or any time of outing. Just make sure your hungry. I will try their ice cream the next time I visit.
No frills here. I ordered the cheese steak with slaw, tomato and jalapeños. There was plenty of meat. The slaw was nice and crisp. Considering how much meat the bread somehow maintained it's rigidity. I tried to order online but you cannot place cash pick-up orders. The lady on the phone seemed upset when I asked how the subs was prepared. This experience could have been 5 stars but the mozzarella sticks were awful. The marinara sauce was delicious though, had a hint of sweet. But the 24hrs is nice. If it's 3 am and you have your beer goggles on this place is the greatest place on Earth!
