Great place to camp. We found a fantastic spot this summer and really enjoyed the time we had at Mark Twain Lake. There is also a good variety of hiking trails. Many miles of adventure with lots of them near the shore line for a great view of the lake. There are also cabins to rent that look nice. Haven't tried boating yet but it is on the wish list.

My wife I camped here for 3 nights during July of 2017. What a great park. The campsites were spaced apart, paved roads, clean bathrooms, individual shower rooms, great hiking trails, and a nice lake. The historic site was small but gave a nice overview of Mark Twain and his life. The camp hosts, the Bender family, were awesome. Bob was hilarious and really made us feel welcome!

Have been to several Missouri state parks, and Mark Twain ranks among the best. My wife and I just returned from a weekend trip, and everything the park provided was great. Incredibly kind and welcoming staff, clean facilities, and even a night-time showing of The Lorax! The first night there, we spent the evening with a friend in nearby Hannibal and completely forgot about the firewood for when we returned. Thankfully, a member of the staff was still around when we made it back to our campsite after dark, and offered to grab us a bundle so that we could make a fire that night. A seemingly small gesture, but a great representation of what MTSP is all about. A wonderful experience and would absolutely recommend to a friend.

The hiking trails were decent, but the lake is VERY low on water. It was not as enjoyable as it normally would have been because staring at dried up rocks and dirt is kinda gross. At least it didn't smell! The museum for Mark Twain was pretty cool.

This park has Mark Twain's house he was born in. As well as furniture from his adult home. The history about him and his family was very interesting. We had a picnic in the park overlooking the beautiful Lake. They have camping & cabins available.
