I cannot say enough kind words when asked to describe Martin and Markan Construction.  Martin alone saved my sanity in Oct. 2010.

We decided to replace our copper roofs over two of our bay windows and originally hired another company to do the work.   Big mistake. A roofing company does not usually have expertise in installing and working with copper.  After taking our deposit and working for nearly a week it became apparent they had no idea what they were doing when it came to working with this material.

I called Markan Construction on a friday and they came out to take a look the following day.  Martin confirmed immediately what I had feared.  The job needed to be redone!!!!  He worked up a very reasonable quote under awkward circumstances while explaining patiently the mistakes that were made.  

Although he was in the middle of another job he came back on Monday and made sure we were at least water proof.  A few days later he began replacement and his craftmanship is unmatched. We feel lucky to have found him. 

We live in Wilmette, IL and would be happy to show anyone who is interested his work.
