It's fine. It's a college cafeteria so don't walk in with extremely high expectations, but the food's not bad, the staff are relatively friendly, and it's pretty decent overall. The only real qualm I have is that there seems to be a lack of adequate salt shakers and napkin dispensers. During busy hours, seating can quickly become an issue, as any tables that aren't currently occupied are probably devoid of salt/napkins and have remnants of the last occupant's meal on them, but when it's less busy, it's easy to find a comfortable seat next to whichever restaurant you want to eat at.
Doesn't have the bean salad that the perch does see my review on that, but it still has some good stuff like the gluten free place has sweet potatoes that are pretty good usually. Market isn't always the best, like who likes collared greens, but it can surprise you sometimes with how good the stuff can be. There are just a lot of options and a lot of them are good, so as dining halls and stuff go, I have no complaints, 5 stars.
This is actually a lot better than the reviews make it seem. Of course there is room to improve, but considering the number of people that pass through here on a given day, I think the staff does a pretty good job. They regularly hold meetings with students to determine areas they can improve upon. That being said, I have gotten food poisoning here before.
Mediocrity at its finest. To think of the flavours in this establishment one must simply imagine England before the invaded the rest of the world and stole their spices. Sawdust does come to mind when eating several of their dishes and when you go to fill your cup up with your beverage of choice, the likely hood of that actual drinking coming out is about 40%. The staff is mostly polite though so they have earned their two stars.
Alright food if you're stuck on Pitt's campus. Nice variety, but some days are better than others. Quality is always questionable just check their health reports from this fall, 2018.
I went to the Pitt university market with fresh produce. Workers are lazy and incompetent. The guy at the register tried to charge me $9.58 for butternut squash when I was buying zucchini for $2.58. Butternut squash is yellow and zucchini is green. These guys don’t even know their own product from a hole in the wall. Pathetic.
This place is occasionally offers something half decent, but the usual stuff is terrible, and they frequently fail inspections. If you're looking at becoming a Pitt student, get the highest amount of dining dollars you can get, because they locations that accept them serve much better food
The food here is pretty much what one should expect from a school cafeteria, except it's buffet, and there's a great variety, including special diet restriction items: kosher, hallalsp, vegan. Burgers, chicken breasts, and chicken patties are particularly popular, so if you go during a busy time of day, you'll be lucky if you get one, as students start lining up. Also, I have no idea how they get away with so few outlets. Don't bring a date here unless you're both students, only come here to study if you need electronics: even if you have good battery life, the wifi can be spoty towards the desserts. Quality: eh, you might get surprised periodically, but it's mostly cheap and tastes like it. Price: $10 buffet? That's an amazing deal. I gave 3 stars because, an atmosphere like this means you should have more outlets. Frustratingly: there are some outlets with no tables nearby: PUT TABLES AT THE OUTLETS
It's okay. The tofu and eggs have made me very sick before and it's really expensive, but for a cafeteria that serves thousands of people, it's not the worst. Just don't eat at the vegetarian station if you have somewhere to be later.
Market is like a quaint little farmers market except it isn’t quaint and it only serves produce that is out of season and usually frozen. There are so many options which Is nice but 90% of the options are terrible so there really aren’t many options left... that being said, it’s easier than cooking my own food so market is a 10/10
