So I was driving by a month or so ago. There just happened to be a lad out there in front of the business wearing a sandwich board and protesting. His board read something about Martin's will totally screw you, as he apparently got the royal screw. Good thing me peepers spied this hommie! I heard crappy things about Hilltop service station, so I was going to take my car here. Not anymore. Thanks a million random dancing pissed off customer dude. Oak Harbor salutes you sir!

40.95 for labor alone on an oil change. I understand if that's your standard rate per hour, but you did not work on my car for an hour. If it takes you anywhere close to an hour to accomplish an oil change, you are so unbelievably incompetent at what you do I don't have words for it. Never coming back for any reason. That is a horrific price for the easiest maintenence procedure on a car. Staff were friendly, but nothing is going to make up for feeling like I just got bent over and r@ped by your absurd labor cost.

I had a flat tire and was about a half a block away from them. (I hadn't used them in the past, they just happened to be closest) so I drove over there. They filled up my tires, showed me where the screw had punctured my back tire and they brought the car back to me so I wouldn't have to walk in the rain. Their employee walked back to work in the rain. They were quick and I didn't have to miss my appointment. Definitely will be using them again.

I found my experience at Martin's completely unprofessional. My came out of the shop in far worse shape than it was in before and I had to take it into two different shops (including the dealership) to fix what Martin's did. I will never use or recommend this shop.

The following review is based on the facts. I added a couple of opinions based on those facts as well. On 9/30/11 I took my truck into Martin’s because my check engine light came on. They diagnosed the problem as a misfire of one of the cylinders. I picked up my truck and was initially impressed with their service and they seemed to be honest with their prices. On 10/13, my truck started having the same issues as before and the check engine light cam on again. Based on my receipt from the service done on 9/30, which states verbatim “We guarantee all parts and workmanship. If you do have a problem, we must be given the first opportunity to correct the problem in order for us to assume responsibility. Limited shot warranty – 6 months or 6000 miles, whichever occurs first; Unless otherwise noted on work order!” I took my truck back on 10/14. They looked at my truck a second time and said water was getting into the cylinder at that was causing the issue. They wanted me to pay an extra $100.00, which I did not believe was correct based on their receipt. They agreed to let me drive over the weekend to ensure there were no issues. Not even a half hour later, the check engine light came on again and I was having the same issue as before. I took my truck back to them on 10/17, they replaced a coil this time, but again there was the same issue as the previous 2 times not even a half hour after I left their shop. I feel I had been pretty patient with them up until this point, (as you could imagine, this was causing a huge inconvenience not being able to drive anywhere in the fear my vehicle would brake down.) but my patients has limits. I called them back today to let them know I was done taking my truck back to them they have had 3 chances to do right by me and have not come through. I requested a refund or the original $98.00 charged to fix the issue based on the verbiage on the receipt but was refused. Martin’s representative stated “We’re not miracle workers” and wanted me to bring in my truck for a fourth time. In my opinion, I hardly think it’s a “miracle” for a company who supposedly specializes in auto repair to correctly diagnose and fix an issue after 3 tries. When it comes down to it, my experience has proved they have amateur mechanics at best. I will be submitting a complaint to the Better Business Bureau based on my experience with Martine’s and their refusal to agree to the terms of their receipt.
