Great little diner with incredible service and cooked to order food. The Belgian waffles were serviced with tons of fresh fruit, the chocolate chip French toast was incredible and the breakfast sandwich was delicious. The only this we didn’t love were the home fries…a tad too greasy for us in the morning. And the coffee was darn good as well, as one might expect from the name!
Cozy place. Live food counter. Bar stools and also tables. Good menu and reasonable price. Finding parking can be challenging in rush hour. Sunday morning breakfast would be a great idea. Offers dine in, take out and delivery. Grubhub friendly. Has a small outdoor seating looking at the street.
Cozy little home cooked diner. Great vibe and the food was solid. We came here on a Saturday for a late breakfast and sat outside because inside was full. We then proceeded to wait over an hour for French toast and eggs. I get that its a busy Saturday but at the very least give us a heads up that it might be a while. So my top tip is definitely try this spot - food is great. but don’t go during peak times. The small kitchen can’t handle it.
An entirely C+ experience. Staff we’re not particularly friendly, seemed annoyed when I asked for something to be taken off the bill that I ordered but did not arrive with my food. The food itself was okay, I would compare it to University canteen food. Most frustratingly, it took 30+ minutes to arrive. Additionally, I was slightly concerned with the Half & Half that clearly states “keep refrigerated”, sitting out, not refrigerated. If you have all the time in the world, and customer experience is not a top priority this might be the place for you.
Place really comfy! Good localization, when you go by car it's pretty difficult to park, principaly in rush hours! There's a restroom in the kitchen, that you can use. You can sit in or out side coffee, or take out if you want! We ordered a Eifel Tower breakfast! It's so delicious and big meal! And in another time we order a teriyaki chicken! So delicious! I recommend!
Nice old diner atmosphere. My wife and I are visiting our daughter in Boston and staying at the Hilton Garden in Brookline. Martin's is a 9 min walk. We both had the French toast, which were fluffy and very good cooked just right. The home fries were excellent. If you are in the area, you need to take a morning for breakfast.Food: 5/5
Used to eat here a few times a year and always enjoyed it. Went recently for breakfast and it was a disaster. Honestly for a place that has "coffee shop" in the name this was the worst iced coffee I've ever had in my life. They take old hot brewed coffee and put it in the fridge to cool down. 40 minutes for food to be served. One of the cooks said he was going to step off the line to eat... at 10am when they are slammed? After he leaves the other cook starts making chicken breasts for lunch instead of the breakfast tickets piling up on his rail. Homes fries are soggy and not fully warmed up. $20+ a person for greasy spoon diner food not cooked well is a scam. Higher end brunch restaurant prices for Sysco corned beef out of a tub. We love to support family run businesses, but the ship has sailed on this one. The rest of the hardworking staff is running around like crazy with sweat on their brow while the two women up front, who I assume are part of the family that owns Martins, wastes time on their phones and stares out the window.
Cozy spot with great hot chocolate. Meat stuffed french toast was ok as was the burger. Service was slow so plan for a longer wait. Overall good though!
Glad we stopped in here to Martin’s for breakfast as it is excellent! Such huge portions for the money. Great value. The waitress was very sweet and we found the atmosphere to be the ideal mix of old timey diner and modern joint. The pancakes with Nutella were great and the massive plate of bacon, eggs, potatoes, sausage and toast was scrumptious. Would highly recommend visiting Martin’s!
Fantastic place. I love gems like this. Food and service immaculate. It’s easy to over order with generous portions. Definitely worth a stop if you love breakfast and a real hole-in-the-wall diner which will surprise you. Super!
