The educational philosophy of Mary of Nazareth Catholic School is to encourage children to grow and mature in the faith according to the Gospel of Christ.
Mary of Nazareth Catholic School is a teaching arm of the Roman Catholic Church. The primary goal of the school is to provide faith-centered, academic instruction in which the Gospel message, worship, and social concerns are integrated into the total learning experience of students, faculty, and parents.
The school achieves its academic goal primarily by the dedicated service of faculty members who are certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh. The same faculty, moreover, oversees academic instruction within the broader context of religious and social concerns. Accordingly, academic excellence is inculcated by rigorous standards, by the assignment of meaningful and constructive homework, and by useful study habits. Accompanying the development of a student's intellectual potential is the emphasis on his or her spiritual and social growth. As a result, Mary of Nazareth Catholic School educates and harmonizes the various elements of the total person: intellectual, spiritual, moral, and social.
The education of the total person is available to Catholic and non Catholic residents of the entire Mon Valley.
