Marymount University Athletics Department is a member of the NCAA Division III and the Capital Athletic Conference. As such, the department endeavors to support the mission of the University and follow the philosophy of the NCAA Division III schools.

Student-athletes should know that it is a privilege to be a member of a Marymount athletic team.

The athletic department strives to enhance the overall collegiate experience by

• paying attention to the individual

• developing each student-athlete to his or her full potential

• fostering good sportsmanship and developing a strong code of ethics

• providing an opportunity to succeed

• maintaining a balance between academics and athletics

• instilling volunteerism and community service and making student-athletes “citizens of the world”

• developing the student-athletes as ambassadors for the university and their sport

• developing and fostering healthy lifestyles
