I attended Maryville from 1992 to 1996. In the course of my journey I lost my grandfather. Literally lost him. He walked off from a nursing home in Arkansas Ground Hogs day 1993. I missed several weeks of school to join the search for him. My teachers were gems about the situation. They allowed me to submit final papers and exams by mail and provided me with moral support throughout the ordeal. My grandfather was eventually found and buried in April that year after the spring thaw. I will never forget the generosity and compassion of my Maryville instructors.
