My family took me to Masa for my birthday. As always the food was delicious and our server was awesome. She also told the cooks that it was my birthday and they sent me a ice cream sundae with a candle in it. It was enough to share. I love their stir fried rice, especially the chicken and pineapple version, but my favorite dish is the honey walnut shrimp. They have a lunch special for it, but I had the dinner plate. The shrimps were huge, crunchy, and sweet from the honey with the glazed walnuts. Loved it. Only thing that was different from the last time is that the cream cheese wontons were smaller; still good though. So far, I haven't had their Sushi.

Okay I am re writing this and it's improved since the beginnings. I've been there a half dozen times now and I've not had a bad experience since then save one a sitting host being a tad snarkier to me than he should have. But the server that took care of that nearly obliterated his tiny rudeness. Everything I've eaten there has been good. That does not even count how many times I've gotten it to go. You pick that up at the bar and I've been welcomed with a sincere smile and friendliness and free water from the bar person on hot days. I used to live right down the street but live farther out now and it's still my go to place for lunch when I'm craving Asian food. The egg rolls taste like Lucy's Back in the day. I still love the calamari salad thing but I've expanded my choices since then and I've tried most of what appeals to me. First try flukes of a few problems totally redeemed since then. It's been great since then.

When it comes to Masa, you can rest assured that you will get consistently good sushi. Their lunch sushi special (2 rolls for $12) is the main reason I come here and they are well worth the visit. The dinner prices, as with many sushi restaurants, are out of my range though. The service is friendly and their is more than enough space for large or small groups. This is currently my go-to sushi place in Tallahassee.

Not a bad place to eat, but tonight, there was a food sticker in my food. The manager gave me another plate and 25% off. However, I wonder if there was not some type of food safety issue here (see pic)...

My suggestion: ET Roll, substitute with Escolar (white tuna). It's delicious! Also, the Honey Walnut Shrimp is a perfect entree to share.
