Masjid As Sunnah in San Diego is an exceptional masjid. Very welcoming environment to Muslims and non Muslims alike. Lots of programs going on in the mosque from main lectures, Islamic classes, to community barbeques and events.

As-Salamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullaahi Wa Barakatuh .. There is something you should know about this mosque. It's Somalian mosque and if you are female be AWARE that on the women side there is lady called Mulki .she will terroris you by asking what tribe you are etc and what part Somalia your parents are from and what is it there tribe .. She (the older Somalian name Mulki ) also will investigate you ( as if she is FBI ) and will go as far as the area you said you live to make sure , you are what you said try to find out your tribe and will go around asking Somalian who live on that area For example Like where you live , who you married to etc ... If you don't have so called Somalian name they will treat you very bad and will interrogated you SubhannaAllah Hasbunallahu Wa Nimal Wakeel . This old lady name Mulki claims that the mosque run by her tribal people and that everyone who is there either is her cousin , nephew, etc.. If you go there make sure it's not the Ramadan time because she Manitors the food and if she feels like she will say to you no food . It seems the other older Somalis were not stopping Mulki because it seems they didn't want any conflicts with her . I had very bad experience. I didn't think this day and age some Muslims were very ignorant to there religion and will be following there culture.. I was fasting , and the only reason I when there was to worship Allah. NO ONE questions amongst Somalians ..although Islam commands us to ask questions and seek knowledge. Many Many Many Somalis are culturally Muslim and don't know their deen very well . They will say oh I finish the Quran or I know the Quran by heart yet they do not follow the Quran and the sunnah and follow there culture. I'm not claiming to be better, but I practice islam through learning this beautiful religion, reading the scriptures etc. and I wish more Muslims would do the same. Rather follow culture .. Let me tell you something. Islam is a simple and practical religion. It has established, clear, and easily understandable beliefs and laws that any follower or student of the religion can easily understand. Islam affirms belief in a decent, civilized society. Islam also does not demand impossible goodness of its followers, but it recognizes that all human beings make mistakes and sin. No one is exempt. Islam preaches peace, mercy, justice, tolerance, equality, love, truth, forgiveness, patience, morality, sincerity and righteousness. Islam is the religion that preaches the Oneness of God, the Oneness of mankind and the Oneness of the Message.Islam do not use tribalism nor nationalism. We all are created equal in the sight of Allah. There is no superiority of one over another for any reason except piety and righteousness. We Muslims are required to respect the dignity of mankind, regardless of religion, race, nationality, or place of birth, all of mankind are honored. And when it is said to them, “Follow what Allah has revealed,” they say, “Rather, we will follow that which we found our fathers doing.” Even though their fathers understood nothing, nor were they guided? [2:170] A custom of the pagans which was clearly forbidden by Allah May Allah guide us, Am
