Although staff is available 8am-4pm Monday through Friday; the grounds are always opened for visiting your loved ones with the exception of severe weather.
The Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon contains 210 acres of wooded, rolling hills. Winchendon is 70 miles northwest of Boston and 45 miles north of Worcester. As of June 2011, approximately 1,400 veterans and their dependents have been interred at the Winchendon Cemetery.
Massachusetts has state Veterans’ Memorial Cemeteries located in Agawam and in Winchendon. There is no fee for a veteran’s burial in a state veterans’ memorial cemetery. A nominal fee will be charged for the burial of spouses, widows/widowers, and qualified dependents.
