I loved it! Simple and tasty hot dogs. I tried three different ones, I wanted to try them all but ran out of belly space : Super friendly and helpful staff as well. I loved the outdoor seating too. Vegetarian options: There is only one vegetarian hot dog offering. Dietary restrictions: No chicken, turkey or fish options, now this might be obvious to many, but still for the folks who might have a need for these items, just a word of caution. Parking: It is a small place, has a few on-site parking slots, and tins of side street options. Wheelchair accessibility: Needs a flight of stairs to reach the restaurant as far as I can tell.
You always hear about these hole in the wall places that are locally owned and provide amazing food, but it can be pretty hard to find them. Matt's Famous Chili Dogs is one of those places, and you should absolutely check it out! They're on the corner of an intersection, so it's pretty easy to access despite Google Map's penchant for making illegal turns, and you're greeted with a burger shack that screams homely and locally owned. When you go in, there's a surprisingly modern setup with incredibly friendly service staff waiting to take your order. I got the double bacon with cheese, some fries and fry sauce, and a coke. Overall it was less than $15, and I was served within minutes. The food was delicious. Meaty and fresh, with a taste that felt clean, savory and not oily like many modern fast food joints. It all tasted exactly how a burger should, seasoned and cheesy with a hefty and a bite from the fresh onions. Absolutely worth a stop by if you're in the area. Check them out, you'll be a regular in no time!
My name is Matt and I’m ashamed that it took me this long to eat here. I absolutely love hotdogs and these are the best I’ve ever had! Plus, prices are super reasonable. I love everything about this place, including the outdoor seating and the walk-up ordering. Kenji Lopez-Alt made a video of his visit here and it prompted me to finally do it. Boy am I glad I did!
Excellent hotdogs. Toppings were a little onthe light side but overall flsvor was there. They have the chili thats more pasty and doesnt have any noticeable beens or meet chunks. Its good! Chicago dog had all the right ingredients including celery salt. Buns were super soft and not even partially stale. I have been to too many hot dog places with stale buns. Fries are straightforwardand nothing special. Over
Cocaine Bear approved. Great food and friendly service. I heard even Raygun likes the dogs.Food: 5/5
Sure, here’s a shorter version: I've known Matt for years, and his chili dogs are simply the best I've ever had. Every bite is packed with quality and flavor. Matt's passion for what he does shines through, and he's one of the friendliest people you'll meet. Even though I'm based in Tacoma, I always make it a point to stop by Matt's whenever I'm in Seattle. It's a great spot, and I only wish he had a location closer to home. Thank you for the delicious dogs! Five
Let me down chili has no flavor hot dog is really small and they don’t even put the chili on your fries it comes in a container I’m glad I didn’t order more food
Great quality dogs used. Had my first Seattle dog there, which was lovely. The chili dogs were good. If you love dogs, go there with 25 dollars and try different combos. You'll get a kick out of it!Food: 4/5
I used to frequent the Matt's hot dogs location that was in Bellevue many many years ago. I also frequented the location that was in Ballard. Both closed, and I thought they were gone forever. You can imagine how pleased I was to come across this perhaps original? location right in the heart of Seattle's industrial area. I personally like to get the veggie sausage Chicago style dog with cheese and fries on the side don't forget to include a side of jalapenos!. If you're not familiar a Chicago style dog has relish, onions, tomato slices, mustard, a pickle slice, celery salt, and a hot pepper. Holy cow, simple eats are always hot and fresh never get old. So freaking good! Next time I'm going to try the sauerkraut dog. Drinks come in one size with vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry shake options. I've been going for lunch most days over the past few weeks and it just doesn't get old. I think it's actually this business's name sake who takes orders. He gave me a frequent buyer card, and I'm almost through my second card already. Matt's is located in a good working class area with diverse clientele that make this business a real gem.
If you need a quick bite, this is the place to go! Freshly cooked with crunchy fresh toppings for your burger. Patty is a bit thin so make sure to make it a double!Food: 5/5
