Story

In 1972, Max & Erma created a fun, unique, gourmet hamburger restaurant you could take friends & family to, decorating it with quirky artifacts & local paraphernalia. Since that day, we’ve been committed to providing our guests with delicious all-American food & friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere the whole neighborhood can enjoy. We’ve grown over the years, but always remain true to what made us successful—delivering a great guest experience. After all, Max & Erma wouldn’t have it any other way.

So I've been wondering why so many Max & Erma's have closed. If the other locations have the service of this one I understand why. We came here to order take out for lunch. We waited for 5 minutes for no one acknowledge us. Even the bartender who could clearly see us didn't even greet us. We went and grabbed our own menus and finally someone asked if we were looking to order take out.  We ordered a salad, nachos and onion rings. We waited for over 40 minutes and there were not a lot of people there. The food was terrible. There were other pieces of food in the salad, the nachos didn't have extra cheese (yet I paid for extra cheese). When we called back to tell the manager he said he would credit the nachos but have yet to hear that he actually did. I will never return to this location or another Max & Erma's again.

Horrible. Took 25 min and 2 requests to get a server. Took my order and waited 30 min for soup to come. When the server brought it something green flew off her shirt onto my soup. She said oh that's just parsley from me helping in the kitchen. Then the soup spoon hand napkin from the dishwasher. Oh but were not done while this is going on the manager was at the table behind me giving them their meal free because the service was so poor. They told me another table had walked out. So then I'm sitting waiting for my quesadillas to come. When they finally came I said oh they look good thank God. Nope the chicken was charcoal black burned. Dinner or should I say ice tea the only thing good was free.

I have never left a restaurant before being served in my life. However today just changed that statement. We were there for at least 20 minutes after having been seated and no one said even one word to us. We had our server come to the table behind us 3 times and never said he would be with us in a moment or at least take a drink order. So feeling as if we were invisible we left.

First and last time at this location. Our waitress Jackie was friendly. Ordered 2 medium rare steaks. Received none. Their cook needs some training or was having a bad night!! One steak was totally rare and the other over done and they were the same cut of meat, and from the sound of it had a bunch of other issues that evening also. Go to Gahanna location instead always yummy!!

We always ask for Amey or Kelsey, both are outstanding, know our orders before we even speak, and make our "max & ermas nights" very enjoyable. The food is amazing and priced very reasonably. The 9 dollar 3 course meal is a great deal. Switched their menu a little but it's still as good as before. Even if you ask for something that's not on the menu anymore our servers know the deal. Josh is a wonderful manger there to speak to as well, we come here quite often , given only living a mile down the road, we wouldn't chose any other max&ermas.
