I am disappointed with the service given to me. I brought in a ring and a bracelet to get it fixed. Everything was alright the first time, but then when I came back to check upon my items, they were not fixed and was not prioritized to get it fixed. Most importantly, the payment was too much. First, they told me that the cost to get the ring fixed would cost me $80, but then got charged for $120. I don't mind being charged a lot but with the owners' attitude is just rude and disrespectful. When my friends and I came in he treated us as if we were gonna steal something. He spoke to us unprofessionally. When there are other costumer like older than us he basically talked them the whole time, while we waited for like 20 mins to be given service to. Another, his assistant or wife glared at us with such meany eyes, as if we're there to steal something or just wasting their time. I even had to go back there 4 times in one day because my father told me to get the jewelry because obviously they haven't fixed it yet. And so they told me that they would it get it back because it was somewhere in another facility. When I came back the 4th time, the ring was fixed and got charged $120. I guess they wanted to make a profit... but I ordered them to get all of my jewelry back even if it wasn't fixed. Overall, before you go there make sure to check any other reviews about this store.

Found this jewelry store by chance . Upon first site I really liked how small the store was and the collections of various estate jewelry ranging from very expensive to moderately priced. The owner Fred and his assistant give you time to look around, without being rushed. Seem very friendly and knowledgeable. I was so delighted I bought a ring (which later returned) due to the diamond scratching me to many times for my taste. I tried again and got another ring, but again returned, just after a few short weeks ,due to husband buying me my engagement ring while he was on business. It was a surprise. I paid 595 received 125 after Fred first said he would give me 175. BUt..okay:( I am thinking still good service. I even referred my daughter and her boyfriend to get their engagement ring from here. Instead of financing he offered them to pay 100 a month and gave them the ring the same day before pay off. (They both have good credit) so didn't really matter. They paid the 1200 and after 5 months traded up for a ring costing 1400. Moving ahead, a very dear friend of mine is in her last stage of life. She gave me a bracelet nothing expensive, but important to me. The clasp broke so I take it into of course Mayer's . I was trying to explain what the bracelet meant to me, Fred cut me off with what do you need? I was taken aback. Rude much? But, okay everyone has an off day. He looked at the bracelet and said will need laser cost 40. I agreed and 2 weeks later I go to pick up bracelet only to be told 85! I asked why and I was told needed to be lasered twice. I said isn't it customary to call the customer and ask if one wants additional work done and to agree to the price than to just do the work and expect payment? At this point with my husband listening on speaker (we were driving) he rudely and loudly says. Just come get it and pay 40 then!! Let's be clear. I am thankful I can pay a mere 85 for hubby works at FB and I work at a school. That does not mean I will stand to get ripped off. I did not want to even pick up the bracelet after that, but of course could not leave it. When I came in. I was only person in store,Fred said no words to me.Not I am sorry for mix up nothing. A couple came in he waited on them happily. After about 5 more minutes a woman came out and rang me up. Then she ask why does the receipt say 85? I said that's what I wanted to know. Fred interrupted and said just do 40 and walked away. This place left such a bad taste in my mouth and I will never again return. I did not have enough room to explain in full detail how he kept changing the price on my daughter's ring AFter she had paid it in full. Saying to her...don't you still owe 100 on ring? After she showed receipt twice he tried this with her before she said no. You should look at your records more. He then said oh, I don't know what's wrong with me lol. She got the ring back and guess what is missing after resizing the stamp that use to be inside the ring. Was their when she paid but now has been removed. I am not sure if this is normal after getting ring resized, it has never happened to me. I know 1400 reasons why he should of explained to her what happen to 14 kt stamp. If you use this place. Go in knowing what you want, keep ALL transactions or each time you pay he will add more. SMH.

I totally love this place. A friend of mine gave me their number and I called them up for a ring I wanted to buy my future wife and the selection and service was beyond what I expected. The location is right in downtown Redwood city, California. Mayers Jewelers has been in business for over 40 years. I will continue to shop there and bring my friends too.
