John is honest, trustworthy, and amazing at what he does. After getting a ridiculous quote from Mini of the Main Line, we called John at the recommendation of four different friends. We called on a Thursday afternoon, dropped my car off on Monday, and the work was done by Tuesday evening. Not only did he save me thousands of dollars, my car has not ran this smoothly since...I don't even remember since when! I've been looking for a reliable local mechanic/auto service shop since I've moved to the area 8 years ago, and I'm thrilled to now have John + McCarthy's to take my Mini Cooper to.  He's straightforward, honest, will do the work your car needs, and won't rip you off--all things that are highly valuable when it comes to getting your car worked on. I can't say enough good things about my experience with John + McCarthy's.

GREAT experience.  I do NOT normally write reviews because they all sound scripted and I don't have time for BS.  That said, I started working in the area and needed something checked on my car.  In short, John does what he says he's going to do, when he says he's going to do it.  He thoroughly checks the problem and gives detailed information on exactly what is being worked on.  John is extremely reasonable and right up front with what he charges.  Great shop, solid local business, will be using again.

McCarthy's shop is an important fixture in the West Conshohocken community. John McCarthy is highly knowledgeable and continues to upgrade his equipment but maintains an old-school neighborhood shop feel, a place where you can expect to be treated like family and receive honest, excellent service.
