McKinney Avenue Transit Authority operates a 4 mile line through the heart of Uptown Dallas using antique Streetcars on a daiy basis. Most traffic is from tourism, however there are a number of people along the car line that use MATA as a means of transportation to get to work, the grocery store, or to enjoy the night life at one of the many restaurants and bars that line McKinney avenue.
Our mission is to provide safe, clean, reliable, and convenient public transportation free of charge to a broader geographic area in downtown Dallas while maintaining the unique, historic ambiance and character of our current service and, in partnership with DART, become a key component of the City's downtown circulator system
Free Streetcar service between Cityplace Station on the DART light rail line and St. Paul and Ross streets in Downtown Dallas.
