Was pressured every checkup to have my old metal fillings replaced with the new composites. I remember how much my coworkers regretted doing it because of the sensitivity and pain, and also the weakness of the composite fillings. I finally caved last year, spent months after having awful sensitivity, nerve pain and triggered headaches because of it. I didn’t go back for my next visit for said reasons, until just recently one of the new fillings caused me pain, the new filling had broke at some point. By now the cavity was now “deep”. That “further down the road” I may need a root canal. After the dentist drilled everything away, she left. The assistant filled it once with a helper, then continuing onto another set they charged me to replace. (Once again no history of problems) only to go back to the first one, even it out, (by herself) then having to apply more composite. I remember being numb on both sides of my mouth but having some sharp pain near my lips, figured it was from all the pulling and pressure. I remember her wiping something off near my mouth. When I left, I had a burn on my face (where she had wiped something off) which is still healing over a week later. I googled dental burn and composite is acidic in its raw form. I started having awful jaw pain again this week and called them as they instructed me to. They told me over the phone I would have to have a root canal. It would only cost $764... mind you this tooth had never caused me problems before they took out the old filling(which was only a few years old) to place a new composite one(which had only been in a little over a year.) I have a coworker who had a root canal from her previous dentist who did the same thing to her. Her new dentist told her there is no reason to go tearing out fillings that don’t need replaced, only to put more fallible ones in. Sounds like just another way to make money.. I told them to cancel my next cleaning and that of my daughters as well.

The staff is kind and courteous. Their work is so outstanding that I consider it worth a half hour drive to go there. I highly recommend McMillen Dental.

I was referred to McMillen Dental by a friend. I am very glad I made the change from my previous dentist, I brought my entire family over. No longer am I pestered by the upsale of dental options, I am truly cared for. I believe the services I have received are the best. Thank you Dr. Rhonda and staff!

McMillen Dental is a great place you are greeted and treated like family from the moment you walk in the door to the time you are done with your visit. All of the staff are very helpful and concerned about each and every patient. You are not just a number in this office, you are family. GREAT Dental office.
