Meadowlands True Value

I've been here before and put up with the unpleasant, cranky, unfriendly man in this store because the store served its purpose for me. After going in tonight I can say that I will NEVER step foot in the again. After walking in and making it a point to greet the man, as he should have done considering I am the customer, I asked him if he would be able to make a copy of some keys for me. Without hesitation he told me that he's done doing that today and I need to come back tomorrow. I looked at him in confusion because I wasn't aware there was a particular timeframe in which this could take place besides the hours that the store was open for business. I asked what he meant and I was told that he was closing in 5 minutes and couldn't do it (it was 5:50pm. I've had keys cut before and never had the process taken longer than five minutes. Still a little confused I proceeded to ask why or how making a copy of keys would take longer than that and why I wouldn't be able to pay for a service that is clearly offered since I was in the store before closing. I explained to him that I came there straight from work to get this done and didn't see why he was not willing to help. He walked away and said he had an emergency and he couldn't be there longer than needed. Being a decent human being I took his "emergency" as a valid reason and left. After leaving I could have sworn that I saw that the store was actually open until 6:30pm and not 6 as he claimed so I decided to call. The same man answered the phone at 6:20pm (20 minutes after "closing") and I asked what the store hours were at which point he informed me that they were in fact open until 6:30. So much for that emergency.

Dominick is a great guy and he is very helpful giving you tips on how to do things and good advice. I prefer going here than going to Home Depot or Lowes because you don't have to wander around for hours and deal with a bunch of dead heads who don't know much about anything. Great little hardware store, a true vanishing breed!

I was trying to grow a nice flower and the owner was extremely rude to me. I will definitely never go there again. Also his body odor was very offensive.

This place is great! They have everything a homeowner needs. Even odd items that I would never suspect anyone to carry, they have. They also sell plants and gardening supplies.
