My daughter and I visited Mega late last night while out adventuring. We were NOT disappointed! The atmosphere was fun, the staff was extremely attentive and friendly, the customers were jovial, and the jolly Christmas music added to the festive feel. Mega looks and feels like a 50s style diner, complete with period style decor. It was very clean. Our food was amazing! Our order was correct, fresh, and hot. Portions were large. We had fries, onion rings, a chicken pita wrap, and the chicken philly cheese hot sub. Highly recommend! Our visit to Mega was a great addition to our late night adventures. We will definitely be repeat customers!
Our first time visiting Mega was was at 10pm on a Monday night so I’m sure they weren’t operating at their peak. We chose the drive-thru option; I got the fish and chips went with the chili cheese fries upgrade and a cup of chicken noodle soup came with my dinner, my husband got the “hanny” pita and a side of fries. Total came to $28-ish dollars, which surprised us a little bit. Like I said, 10pm on a Monday is probably not prime time for the diner but the soup was pretty sad. I chose to eat it in the car, on the drive home, and the chicken was so dry, I actually scooped it out and when we got home, threw it in the bowl we keep outside for feeding the local stray cats The noodles were pretty much mush and it was definitely pretty salty. I do feel like if you got it when it was fresh, it would’ve been pretty decent. Lots of chicken and celery. The fish was also really, really dry but this was definitely a case of being over cooked. It was so disappointing because it was 3 nice pieces of cod, the breading tasted great and the flavor was there— the fish was just cooked way too long so the ends of each piece were dry and chewy. The chili cheese fries were the highlight for me— really good ratio of cheese to chili and the fries were great themselves. Chili was a little on the sweet side but a nice texture for being served as a topping. I hate it when places throw that super chunky bean-filled chili on fries so I was glad theirs was bean free and no giant chunks of beef. My husband was really satisfied with his “hanny” sandwich and thoroughly enjoyed it. We’re from metro Detroit, living now in Shiawassee, and it’s been ages since we had a hani from a National Coney Island so this was a pleasant surprise. He also enjoyed his French fries as well. The soup was an understandable misstep but paying $14 for mega dry fish was so incredibly disappointing. The fact that they have a drive-thru is very handy, especially in pandemic times, and the wait was surprisingly short. I can tell that if you got the right items at the right time of day, this place would be fantastic but until we try it again, I’m saying it’s a solid 3 out of 5.
Stopped in for lunch with my best friend, not only does the decor take you back to " Happy days" but they are not shy on the portions of food either! I had the Rock Star mini , which was a good size for a mini ! Our waitress and staff were very friendly and attentive. I will definitely go back.
I always stop by here for breakfast when I come back into town. You can't go wrong with the southern omelet. Also they have some delicious shakes, my favorite is the cookie dough! Always good, accommodating service.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: YesDelivery: No
This place has gone down hill big time. Two egg western omelet and hash browns with onions. And this is what they serve. Will not ever go here again. Large green peppers chucks, really. The waitress was rude as hell.
Ordered breakfast with extra sausage for the bacon and they gave me all bacon. Called them and explained the problem and was told I would have to bring it back but I am 30 minutes away. Asked if I could get a credit for a future order and was told no and that the only thing they could do is fix it if I brought it back. Girl said she would talk to her manager which said the same thing but I'm not using 3 gallons of fuel and a hour of my time to fix their mistake when all I wanted was a credit on a future order.
My wife had the mega corned beef sandwich and fell in love instantly, we found that it was on special on Wednesdays for $2 cheaper. Atmosphere is very good and I loved the old music that was playing really took me back to the day. Staff was very friendly and fast. Our food came out much faster than we expected. Overall excellent place for one and all.
Ingredients for a Cobb Salad are as follows: Romaine lettuce, Watercress, Cucumber, Tomatoes, Onion, Crumbled blue cheese, Cooked chicken breast, Bacon, Hard-boiled eggs & Avocado. I placed, via phone, a take-out order for a "large Cobb salad, fried mushrooms, and an apple pie. The ingredients in the Cobb salad I ordered are as follows: 2 slices of tomato, a few onions shards, a few chips of carrots and less than a wedge of iceberg lettuce. I am displeased and unhappy about paying a high price for a Cobb salad that had 97% of its ingredients missing in action. My bill came to $18.00 and some change and I left a $3.00 tip which is a bit more than 15%. Again - I am not pleased. I call the restaurant and start by saying "I called in an order for a large Cobb salad" and immediately the female employee interrupted me by saying "we don't have Cobb salad on the menu." Pause. and then I say "I wasn't through talking when you interrupted me, and she said "I wanted you to know we don't have Cobb salad on our menu." Me, "then why, when I asked for a large Cobb salad didn't the employee taking my order tell me that." Well - that was just too much for her to think about and then the argument ensued. She said, "what do you want me to do" and I replied I paid for a Cobb salad and I want my money back and she said, "we charged you for a "dinner salad" and I said "I didn't order a dinner salad and yes I realize now you don't have Cobb salad on your menu so WHY WHY WHY didn't your employee tell me that and I would have ordered a different salad." She put me on hold and 5 minutes later I disconnected. I'm not through.
I bought an all meat omelet for myself and a grilled ham and cheese with fries for my wife. Told them I wanted well done fries instead of hash browns. Fries were not well done. After they "reheated" my fries they forgot my toast. Will absolutely never go here again. $30 for food not done right and then forgetting my toast.Food: 2/5
Customer service was terrible My husband and I often work late so this was our go to place since it was 24 hours. We normally had no issues. However tonight my husband ordered what he usually orders. The menu doesn't list that there are any condiments on the burger. He's never had ask to leave anything off before. He's allergic to mayo and tonight they put mayo on his sandwich. It didn't touch his meat he's pretty cautious to it and knows to check thoroughlyit was between lettuce and the bun so he asked for a new bottom bun. The waitress comes back and tells him he would have to pay for a new bun per the manager. My husband replied with you do know we haven't eaten anything and I don't even have all my food we could just walk out.She said she would check on it. Around 7 mins later my food comes out I had no fork to eat with. Still no answer on my husband's burger. She goes to get a fork takes a bit comes back with my husbands fries and says they are going to make you a new burger and takes his burger. My husband didn't ask for a new burger, he just needed a new bun. It was a problem to give that to him and want to charge him but took his already prepared food away to prepare another burger. Doesn't make any sense that they were going to charge him for a bottom bun but took a whole burger to waste. We walked out and likely won't be back.
