I like Meijer -- sometimes they offer lower prices than Wal-Mart and sometimes they offer a better value due to higher quality. I've been to many different Meijers' over the years, and it's almost always a pleasant experience. However, this particular Meijer has a few totally incompetent employees. The most recent example being a prescription refill. I used Meijer's over-the-phone, automated prescription refill. The Rx had run out of its prescribed refills, so it needed a call to the doctor's office. That was placed on April 11th. Naturally, because a call was required, I assumed it would take a few additional days over the usual. For me, the usual means about a day or two to refill a prescription that doesn't need a doctor's call. It is now April 21st and I STILL don't have my prescription. I had called on the 19th, and admittedly I was on a cell phone when I was surrounded by a large group of people, to ask about the Rx status. My call probably seemed obnoxious, but I offered to call back (told sternly "no"). The answer was that they'd sent a fax to the doctor's office, but the office hadn't responded back. So in 8 days, nothing had happened with my prescription whatsoever. They didn't inform me -- of anything -- through any call, automated or otherwise. I would've had no problem making their lives easier, and coordinating the Rx with my doctor. Did anyone think of just calling the office back? It doesn't seem so. If there isn't one already, there should be an automated system in place to let the pharmacists/technicians know there's possibly something fishy after multiple days of no response. I called the doctor's office to find out that they hadn't received any fax. So I called Meijer back, informed them of the situation, made sure they had the right number and office, said thanks, and bye. I call back today, April 21st, and... it's as if the call on the 19th didn't even happen! So, I run the same thing: Meijer tells me they sent a fax & no response, I tell them I know, and that the office never received any such fax, and then we make sure they have the right office, again. Granted, the most recent pharma/tech on the phone was courteous, competent (at least sounded like they were) and did say they would call "first thing tomorrow morning". Awesome. I'll wait for that magic to come through. Next time, I'll just refill elsewhere.
