Had my right knee replaced. Excellent facility. I would like to especially thank Kristina in Pre-Op, Erica in Post-Op and Soon, the nurse who took care of me in my room. Thanks for making my surgery a positive experience

Since my total hip replacement over a month ago, my husband and I have been telling everyone we know about our exceptional experience with Memorial Herman Orthopedic and Spine Hospital. Dr. Mathis and his associates/staff are the best! All the staff were courteous, professional, and caring. A special kudos to the nursing staff. The entire experience from admission to discharge was smooth and organized. My pain was minimal. I was up and walking an hour or so after arriving to my room from recovery. I was discharged the following day, although I would have gladly stayed longer (LOL). The care was that great. I definitely recommend the Signature Suites. My husband enjoyed the extra room and comfort. We will be coming back when Dr. Mathis replaces my husband's knee.

Avoid the physical therapy. VERY expensive and hidden charges. I was seen by a therapist that was training another therapist. Needless to say she spent half of the time working on me and the other half teaching this person. To be honest. Just go online and help yourself. They really don't know what they are doing. AND they start pushing junk like a rubber band to help stretch for $200!

Great hospital experience. The hospital is like staying in a hotel and I did not meet a single person that did not welcome me, ask how they could help or bend over backwards to get what we needed. The nurses were very attentive and the employees exhibited true teamwork.

Two stars only because the nurses did seem to care and were attentive. That being said this hospital needs to figure out a way to put patients first. I was told to be here at noon, it's now after 430 pm and have yet to have surgery. They put patient comfort at bare minimum. Not even magazines or a tv to occupy the time as you sit here and wait hours past your scheduled time. Their organization of patient flow is just as bad as a patient for the same dr I have came in 3 hours after me and is already back in the OR. I understand things come up, but the fact that someone scheduled after me went back before it just poor planning. This is the worst hospital and surgical center I have ever had surgery done. Worst.
