About

European Style Market and Restaurant

Story

Mercantile is a European inspired Market and Restaurant. Open seven days a week, the gourmet "Old World" market serves early morning coffee and pastries along with a full menu of breakfast and lunch options. The airy restaurant is dinner only, featuring fresh Colorado ingredients and inspired techniques that tell the story of Chef Seidel’s culinary journey as owner of Denver’s award-winning Fruition Restaurant and founder of Fruition Farms, a 10-acre artisanal sheep dairy and creamery in Larkspur, Colorado.

Mercantile’s market offers items such as pickled beets, fruit spreads like fig jam, croissants and cheeses and yogurts from Fruition Farms. In keeping with the era when rail travel was established, the market will offer many things that have been preserved in jars, including mini-meals such as oatmeal, sturgeon rillettes, duck confit, and bread pudding.

WOW. Mercantile provides the most wonderful dining experience. The food, service, consistency, variety and ambiance are all on point. I recommend sitting at the chef's table. The sommelier, Abbie, is wonderful. I've eaten here several times and every time has been equally memorable.

Helpful and supportive staff, who are eager to help. The food, is on a different level. You can taste the passion, scratch made artesian meals. Everything from bread to side dishes are made by hand. The textures are beyond home made. Chef level quality and precision are greatly welcomed. I will visit again. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinners. Fully stocked bar of wine, beer and cocktails. To go or sit down. Don't miss this eatery.

When we first arrived, we were told by the hostess that bar seating was on a first come first serve basis and to simply stand and wait for seats at the bar. We quietly waited our turn for bar seats. After waiting 45 minutes behind three couples who were there before us, who all got seated (and two additional parties who jumped in to snag some seats) it was finally our turn. We excitedly approached the long anticipated bar stools and were were told that we should have put our names in because the seats were reserved for other guests. Really? Were we the wrong color?
