Honestly, I did not expected it is possible to have such great time in just a park.
We hired a kayak and took a trip on Mercer Lake. We saw sunbathing turtles, a preying heron and - the most impressive - an eagle. It was the first time in our lives we encountered the eagle.
The park is perfect place to spend time actively.

Loved the Italian American Festival. Loved the Stayin' Alive Band (fully enjoyed hearing all the great Bee Gees music). Enjoyed the entire day and into the night, topped off with fireworks. Delicious food, nice people all over the place, heard great music all day. Will probably make this a new annual tradition.

Large and very well maintained park. A gem of the county with many sports available. Also regularly presents many festival, tournaments, festival and events. Something for everyone. You must check their website to fully appreciate all the things that happen there.

At first glance Mercer County Park is an enormous field with a curving Highway rolling through the middle of it. When you get to know the park it actually has some interesting Parts like The Boathouse and the lake. There are sports fields and places for events. This is a good place to see the fireworks on the 4th of July. It's not beautiful like Yosemite or even Tyler State Park in Pennsylvania but it is a nice place to go.

It's a nice park for everyone. Nice picnic areas. Several playgrounds for children of all ages. The marina is nice for kayaking. They rent Kayaks, paddle boats & maybe rowboats. They're different events happening at different times of the year. Annual dog shows, Regatta boat races, fair... there is an outdoor ice skating rink that is fairly popular from November until March I believe. There's more than enough room for walking, jogging, biking, practicing cross country skiing. Children are often delighted by the deer that reside at this park. You see an occasional Fox & other wildlife . .. dogs on leashes are welcome. There is a separate dog park that dogs can run freely in as well. There are basketball courts ... soccer fields  ... softball fields .... tennis courts.... plenty of room to fly kites .... throw frisbees ... the park picnic areas are usually very crowded during Memorial Day & Labor Day. On these holidays the picnic areas fill up quickly, very early in the morning. Because of the size of this park, you can have a peaceful stroll While others are having lively gatherings.
