Mesa Cafe Restaurant has been successfully owned and operated since 1984 and welcomes you to drop by and join the locals in our fun and friendly atmosphere. We are located close to the beach in Santa Barbara, California.
Our goal is to continue to offer great homemade food at a reasonable price while maintaining the same great quality of service. You can enjoy a selection of appetizers, sandwiches, fresh seafood, steak, pastas, fresh salads, homemade desserts and our daily specials, including everything from classic favorites to modern cuisine. We also offer a full bar at reasonable prices.

Will never be going there again.  Tried to find a way to contact the owner before I put this post but the Manager conveniently did not have a card for him and expected me to come back when he "might" be there.  I am sure to give him a rundown lie about why I was complaining.  I would suggest to all that go there and pay with a credit card to check your final charge once it goes through your bank.  The manager claimed it was a mistake but the amount conveniently made the tip an even dollar amount.  That is not a mistake.  It is laziness and definitely deliberate.  It is also stealing no matter how you look at it.  When the manager also realized his bad excuse was not going to fly he tried to give me a dollar.  Not the point.  You know it was wrong and not a mistake or you would have brought out my receipt instead of a print out of the transaction.  The food was not bad and neither were the drinks but once trust is lost, it becomes not worth it to try again.

I love Mesa Cafe & Bar! The food is hearty and delicious - get yourself some loaded fries stat. This location is a little less cozy than their Santa Barbara location, but offers a different positive experience. They have a wonderful bar area with some good brew and wine offerings. There's also some excellent people watching if you sit next to the windows facing the street. Parking can be a bit tough, but still worth it.

The atmosphere is good, the chilaquiles are very tasty with just enough spice, but the hollandaise is from a packet and grainy. For a busy breakfast place with 5 benedicts on the menu, this is pretty unexcusable.
