I have used them for serious matters in my home. Their help in getting me the funds I deserved was greatly appreciated to the point I studied and took the exam for a license myself. All those who are complaining should have asked for another adjuster. I am very sorry for your losses and for the way you were treated over the phone or emails. Not all Public Adjusters are bad. Perhaps the one you dealt with was very new and did not know what the heck he or she was doing which could be the fault of the trainer. Again, I'm very sorry you feel that way and hope that all of your home issues were resolved. Sometimes clients don't understand the processes that takes place. When it takes 4 to 6 months it's because of the insurance company's negotiation period, not the adjuster. Sometimes the claims are denied and there is nothing anyone can do. Remember, this work is to be compared to the work of an attorney. No one complains about the percentage and the amount of time it takes to settle a claim dealing with their attorney. It may take one to two years to settle those claims. Four to six months is a little extravagant but not out of the norm in this business. If you settled a claim with your insurance company they will offer you $3,000 when you could have gotten $15,000. That is the nature of the business. I'm not making excuses for an untrained adjuster but just want everyone to understand the nature of the business and that when negotiations are taking place it will take time. You can settle for whatever the insurance company offers but then you will ask yourself what will you need an adjuster for if you can do it yourself. It's like going to court on a large case without an attorney. Woe to you. An adjuster will help get you the money you need to fix everything, if there is a legitimate claim. They also help you to understand everything you are entitled to. Most people don't know. Everyone is so caught up on their rates going up. Guess what? It will go up if you file or not. We are all paying for claims paid out to others even if we never ever file a claim. The insurance companies have been taking your money for years. You might as well put in yours and get a piece of that pie!
