I had been a patient at this practice for 5 years. I stayed for so long because Dr. Gillian performed my mother's hysterectomy and did a good job. However, that was not enough to make up for the many many issues this practice has. 1) The staff are not always friendly or knowledgeable. I called in a informed the office that I would be menstruating during the week I was scheduled to come in for a PAP. She said it would be ok and then I was turned away because, YOU CANNOT DO A PAP AT THAT TIME! 2) Its very hard to get an appointment. Its important you keep them when you get them because they have SO many patients that they can't fit you in for your vaccine shot, PAP, labs, anything! And mark your calendar! My sister and I both ran out of our prescriptions because they STOP SENDING reminders for your annual PAP without notifying us. 3) They are dismissive and surly. I was a virgin when I had my first PAP. I teared up a bit and they would not finish. I was prescribed Xanax (which I did not fill) and they wrote on my record that I "did not like to have my PAP done" or I'm difficult. I am currently on a birth control that I HATE. I've called twice in the past year begging them to change or give me a redo but they have said they won't help. I must not be taking it everyday etc. I have had multiple hideous experiences and will not be back.

Dr. Potter is an amazing physician and her nurse is outstanding beyond words! 1 simple phone call and not even 5 minutes later they take care of any concerns I am having. They go above and beyond to help and CARE for their patients, personal or medical they still care. I would never switch doctor's or choose any other obgyn office again because when I call her office and leave the nurse a voicemail I know she will call me back with a solution ready and a plan to fix the situation. Seriously I couldn't be more thankful. If you would like to know more about this office other than this one experience keep reading. I have 2 children my second was delivered by Dr. Potter and he is now 4 months and in perfect health! My first impression of everything wasn't so great and the front office could still use a little more compassion. The back office staff is amazing! From the phlebotomy staff to the nurse and MA all outstanding people. I started seeing Dr. Potter when i was already in my second trimester and had to switch doctors due to moving. I wasn't sure if I liked it after my first impression but remember first impressions can be wrong. So i stuck around to see if i was wrong and i was. The office has always be very clean and comfortable.. very well decorated too. I went to the ER because I believed i was in labor early but Dr. Potter was just about to leave to go home. Despite going home she came to see me even if it was early for me to be in labor, the ER nurse said i was only 4cm dilated and didn't really say anything about my contractions. Good thing Dr. Potter showed up. Now i have a very high pain tolerance so it didn't look like i was in labor because im very laid back about everything so the ER didn't believe me. Then the Dr. Potter came in and checked on me and said the nurse was wrong. I was 6 cm and was going into labor after looking at my contraction charts. Instead of going home and letting the on-call Dr. do my delivery she stayed to deliver my son late at night. Now that is a great doctor who shows how much she cares about her patients. She is very light hearted and so am i so she always made me laugh and lightened the mood even when i was scared. So even if your first impression is bad dont judge a book by its cover, really learn who they are because any woman would be lucky to have such an outstanding doctor providing them care in such a difficult feild of obgyn work.

My experience with them has been very positive so far. I had some issues with my pregnancy and they were quick to respond every time and get me in to get checked out. Their ultrasound tech is the sweetest guy! I saw dr Potter and I have to say, I'm surprised by some of the reviews here. She was very nice, took her time talking to me and explaining things, I didn't feel rushed at all! The only complaint I have is that they were super busy the times I went there. But I guess this can be a sign that patients are happy with them. All in all, they met all my expectations as far OB care goes.

Not for the natural minded. The bottom line: if you are clinical minded and are fine with scheduling your child's birthday, you will be very happy with Dr. Potter. She is very schedule-oriented and wants to get everyone on the calendar. If you want to deliver a week earlier than your calculated due date, she'll do that for you, no problem, no warnings or concern over whether baby is developmentally ready or not. If, however, you want to allow baby to arrive on her own time, going up to a week or more past due, she will basically bully you into scheduling an induction and worse if you don't comply. There were issues all along with her condescending tone and cold bedside manner, but the worst of my experience was on my final visit. At 3 days overdue, Dr. Potter was using scare tactics and warnings of delivering a stillborn, which she unnecessarily clarified as, "a dead baby," if I didn't schedule an induction that week. I insisted on waiting, as I did with my other two healthy children, explaining that in my family we generally run longer gestations, prefer the natural route, will agree to an induction after 10-14 days... Then she asked to check my cervix. I had been refusing the weekly cervix checks because I prefer minimal invasion and don't believe they reveal much if anything about the timeline of labor. But she said in all of her decades of practice, no one had ever NOT let her check. So I agreed and... I will save you the details... but it was definitely NOT just a check, and when I cried out, she casually declared, "Oh, I'm just stripping your membranes." I was horrified and could not believe the reckless disregard for my wishes and complete violation I experienced. I was in so much pain when I left and for hours afterwards, and I was in tears the days following that visit. I decided NOT to go back and NOT to trust her to make the important decisions in the delivery room, having no respect for me or the natural process of birth. So at 3 days past due, I was looking for a new delivery doctor, feeling like such a fool, so emotional, so beaten down, and toying with the idea of delivering at home if I couldn't find anyone to take me (something I did not believe was best), just to avoid her. Luckily, there was a local doctor who agreed to take me. The new doctor reassured me that what I was requesting was the norm, and I should not have been made to feel otherwise. In addition, the new doctor also checked my cervix and found the stats Dr. Potter had given me about how far dilated and effaced were not at all accurate, more specifically I was not as far along as she had told me I was. I believe she lied to make me feel I was farther along than I actually was, to fool me into believing baby was ready anyway, I might as well induce now. I have my own story, and others have publicly and privately reached out to disclose their stories about Dr. Potter. Case and point, this was not a one-time thing. One story dates back 18 years! So she has been behaving this way for decades. On the flip side, others have had more positive stories with Dr. Potter, but all of these I have heard were planned c-sections, high risk, or others who were happy to be on a schedule. My baby wanted to come into the world 13 days past her due date, and I'm glad I found a different doctor who allowed that to happen. She was 7 pounds-13 ounces of pure perfection.
