Metuchen Golf and Country Club was built in 1915 and originally designed as 9 holes by the golf professional and greenskeeper, Charles Lang. The full 18 holes were completed in 1931. Please do not be overconfident when you see the yardage. At 6766 yards from the championship tees, our well guarded greens and tree lined, narrow fairways with stingy rough provide plenty of challenges for players of all skill levels. Our signature hole, #14, has our famous Metuchen tree in the center of the fairway at about 160 yards. With a wide landing area, you must decide which side of the tree to play your tee shot to and then you must negotiate our green side pond before attempting to putt on a very difficult green to read. It is a hole to remember. The course is always in outstanding shape and considered some of the best in the state due to the fine work of our superintendent, Jason Osterhoudt, and his crew. Metuchen Golf and Country Club is truly a hidden gem!
